Compared to what? Most "intelligent" monitors should be at least somewhat able to adjust appropriately to conditions, whereas following a fixed mileage (or time) routine does not at all.

It has happened. And that is true. . Whether you like it or not.

Having said that... There have been improvement in these in some models and versions in recent years. That is true.

My Hondas OLM algorithm is based on implied heat put into the oil, and penalizes short trips, towing and high load scenarios. I'm pretty comfortable with it.

Don't be paranoid like many here. I have been doing 10K OCIs with various M1 oils in various engines for the last 41 years, with engines well over 200K and a Ford truck with 354K. At present I have 235K on my 2007 Fusion 2.3 with M1 0-20. Never a problem.
