I would imagine so. Doug Hillary might know for sure though. We know the 0w40, 0w20, and TDT 5w40 are.

According to Mercedes approved oils list (whnet.com/4x4/oil.html), there are some "European Formula" oil that meets ACEA A3/B3/B4:

Mobil 1 European Car Formula 0W-40
Pennzoil European Formula Ultra 5w30
Quaker State European Formula Ultra 5w30
Castrol Syntec European Formula 0W-30

M1 0W40 sold in USA may or may not be the same formula as European.

The Pennzoil and Quaker State European Formulas are made with the same base stock as Shell Helix Ultra which is their XHVI Group III.

Well, leaving aside the question of "quality" of PAO v. GrpIII for a second, especially as regards pricing, let us not be confused here. The prices of M1 at AA yesterday were $6.98/quart (including the 0W20) and $7.88 for the EP.PP was 6.48, traditionally a much cheaper brew, but not so much anymore. I'd say the 2-4-1 deals are long gone. At these prices, when I run Syn, I'm gonna call on one of the Amsoil guys, and why not? The pricing differentials are just about erased. May as well have PAO for the money, right? Can't argue the filter quality from Amsoil, either.

For ten-grand O.C. intervals (because this car has taken the fun out of a simple OCI with the filter location), I figure I may as well have the best, especially since they've taken such blatant advantage over at Mobil and Pennz on the price of "synthetics".

You gotta learn to shop. Walmart has 5 quart jugs of PP,M1,and EP for about $20,$22,and $28.

yep even in hawaii, but it's $2 more $22,$24,and $30

makes you wonder how much of wikipedia is
