Maybe I can track down all the little pieces I've had to cut off my watch bands over the years, thanks to my little wrists, and sew them together for an extension for a band for you.

True, but there are a wide variety of watches for the same reason there are a wide variety of vehicles. Ford's entire lineup isn't comprised merely of a Fiesta and a stripped down work truck for a reason. Yet, if you want to be picky, the vast, vast majority of people in North America would find their automotive needs (not wants) satisfied by either a Fiesta or a stripped down one ton.

I can't afford a new Ferrari or a new Rolex. That doesn't mean I have to settle for a used Omni and a Walmart special, either.

You never have to set the watch, or adjust for shorter months, leap year, or DST.

I enjoy wearing and owning a few different type watches..as some have said here Citizen is a solid watch I own 2 that I rotate between but keep a Tag & Movado for special occasions.

My suggestion would be this: LINK.

Set it and forget it. You won't have to worry about changing batteries(solar powered), updating time/date(atomic time), sapphire glass(scratch resistant) is what you want, and it fits your budget.

Let us know what you get.

Go to wwww.worldofwatches.com .They have dozens of brands to choose from. I have several Swiss Legend and Invicta watches and always get compliments

Invicta Pro Diver...basically a ripoff of an Omega Seamaster. Very James Bond. Retails around $369, I got mine at overstock for $70ish

I have had several but there is only one watch that has lasted and lasted and that is the Citizen Echo-drive. Before this watch a good watch was considered anything that lasted over six months. This Citizen has been going strong for about seven years.

Even though I own more expensive watches, this cheap Blue Mako is what I typically wear every day. It goes well with just about anything... business suit, polo shirt, etc.

Simple, elegenat Movado fits a lot of situations and you can't go wrong with a decent Seiko.

I have a Citizen Eco-Drive. It has a time zone feature and is atomic so it resets itself every night at 2am and automatically adjusts at the time change. I believe it was about $300 from a jewelry store.

I used to think I don't need a watch, I've got two cell phones on me during the week and one during the weekend, but I've definitely enjoyed having a watch on my wrist.

I wear one of these for both casual and sometimes formal depending on what else I am wearing. I really like it, the band is very comfortable, and it is not as big as it looks. I am not a fan of massive watch faces either.

I also have a silver Citizen Eco-Drive solar watch.

I have over 70 watches and love'em!
Breitling, Longines, Invicta, Omega, Rolex, TAG as well as Citizen, Seiko, Elgin, Bulova, Gruin...many are very old!

I prefer mechanical/automatic but, I do own quartz

Watches from the 30's-present. Several were my dad's wathches. In the 70's, I became fascinated with wrist wathces and my collection started. None of my watches are fully collectable but, fine watches just the same.

There are a million wathces out there and I have my personal favorites for everyday use(diver/pilot watches).

For a meeting with a client, pick something that matches your attire and personality without being too over the top(40mm-45mm/NO 50mm)..yes, it do own 50mm diameter watches! You don't want the watch to be the focal point, you want your presentation to be that! But, you want the watch to get subtly noticed.

You choose whether the watch has a leather band(brown/black) or stainless steel. The finer detils will only matter to you after ownership.

I like the Citizen eco-drives and the Seiko solar line. I have an Omega Seamaster mid-size (I have small wrists and also hate the trend toward wrist-borne wall clocks.) that I bought when I got my first real promotion. I love it and wear it nearly everyday. After its next scheduled maintenance I will put it up for special occasions and go back to the eco-drive.

After wearing a watch for a while, I have realized how much I rely on it. Also it probably saves battery life on the phone.

My older brother had a Bulova Accutron in the late sixties. Beautiful watch! I remember Holding it up to my ear and listening to it hum. I remember he paid $300.00 for it back then. It must have been an early battery powered watch but I thought it had a tiny nuclear reactor in it! LOL! I thought he was crazy for giving that much money for a watch when $2.50 an hour was pretty good money!
