Men's Watches

I wear nothing but chronographs. My daily watches in rotation are a Vintage Croton, Bulova Marine Star, Citizen, Casio EDIFICE, & a Seiko in black ion. There are many others I wear for special occasions.

For myself iPhone and prior cellphone took its place.

I have a gifted Rolex sitting in a drawer that seems so odd for me to wear.

The blue-faced Citizen above is a dressier watch already. I wouldn't wear it with casual clothing.

Well, it depends on how dressy you're going!
Slacks & open collar shirt is how I'd wear this watch. Dressy to me is; polished SS/Tungsten or...Croc Strap w/ gold/rose gold, MOP dial etc., to be worn with French Cuff & Links and a Tie.

Watches should be hidden under the cuff when dressing for the evening but, I like a large watch(48-50 mm) when dressing casually(tan slacks, loafers, open collar shirt, nice belt).

You can keep going if Bling is your thing too

I don't care for diamonds on my watch(it's just not me)...or maybe only one diamond at the 12:00 position. And I don't care for an all gold watch, only just a touch around the crown and pushers and numbers/hand on the dial.

Details to my personal liking is what I look for in a watch. That's why there are so many watches to choose from...Details!

I don't typicaly care for Aribic Numerals as a rule but, do like simple hash marks or Roman Numearls(but, only at certain positions on the dial)...Details!

As a rule, I prefer automatic or mechanical but, will and do have quartz. I like a chronographs but, a master calendar is more suitable to my needs. Don't care for digital at all but, that's just me!

ouch.... my cat pushed my wife's mechanical off a counter on to a tile floor and cracked the crystal. That little move cost $200 since the watch had to be re-oiled.

I've thought about getting mine regulated but I have another 3 years before it needs to be serviced and I don't want to mess with the warranty.

Like some have mentioned, I don't like the large/thick watch cases that are in fashion today. A long sleeve dress shirt will constantly be getting "snagged" on a thick case. I have a really nice mid-60's era Omega DeVille that my dad got from GM - it's smaller with a slim case. For a casual wear watch, I got a circa 1965 Lucien Piccard "Seashark" off of ebay for around $60. It's small and thin with a swiss auto movement. Only problem is that the auto wind mechanism doesn't work but can be stem wound.

One day I want a vintage Omega Constellation "Pie Pan". Beautiful, classic watch but pretty expensive to this day.

This used to be my daily watch. Seiko 5 automatic. It was simple, accurate and elegant looking. Unfortunately I gave it to my then 1.5 year old daughter and she dropped it on a tile floor. It doesn't wind anymore

If you still have the watch, it can be fixed directly through Seiko. And it's surprisingly less money than I expected. I had to have another movement put it my Seiko MILE MARKER(right from Seiko) as I had overtightened the 2 crowns evey time I went swimming(as a precaution). Finaly, it just didn't work any longer.

If you take it to a jewler, they'll only send it to Seiko anyway as Seiko is the only one that will fix it! It's easy to do by looking them up online and calling them(U.S. & Canada). I sent mine to Seiko in NJ all pre-arranged by phone!

I also had an Seiko 5(which are all automatic). That's one of the 5 functions in the "5". I gave it to a young engineer who had worked with us and was leaving for a job with Toyota in KY. He had always admired the different watches that I wore to work everyday.

I had a Seiko 5 for years, the one with the crown at 5 o clock. That was a dam good watch, unfortunately i lost it in the motorcycle accident.
Too bad the new ones are not made in Japan, they have become scarce as hens teeth on the used market in good condition.

I one had a Wittnauer, a Bulova Accutron, and a MOvado. I liked the Bulova Accutron the most for style, but the Wittnauer was the nicest watch.

Nice! Mine was a dress all SS style with the small recessed crown and smooth case, that was the feature i liked about it most. Possibly the most comfortable watch i ever owned.

Very nice watches!
There was a thread here that had some REALLY NICE WATCHS such as:

Zenith
Omega
Breitling
Rolex and

some watches that I've never heard of. Which is always the case as there are so many to choose from even in the high end market.
