Best one for protection, OCI, high temperature protecion, cold crank.

Its for and ecotec 1.8L, with spirited driving, lots of high rpm (5-6k)
Mostly city riving, but long trips on the weekend. temp around 10 - 15 degrees for now, its getting warmer.

Your experience or recommendation are very welcome.

Thanks!

I would use Mobil 1 in SN favor. It is cheaper than Castrol in most cases and is decent.
Castrol is $4-$6 higher here for a jug.

IMO Castrol's FST top offering is a better oil than regular Mobil 1, but Mobil 1 probably has an edge in cold cranking properties.

Some recent Amsoil tests had Castrol FST scoring very well in a couple of notable categories.

I laugh at how many of us will say one is better than the other when we really don't know the truth. The specs don't show the whole story and our engines don't talk to us.

I prefer Mobil 1 but I won't say it's better than Castrol because I don't know. I've never ran too identical engines under identical conditions and measured for wear....and neither has anyone else on this forum.
