My engine has always been a little noisy, so I'm not that concerned about it and like I said, it could just be my imagination.

Try some MMO before your next OCI. It quieted down my H22 significantly. Running M1 0w30.

The only reason the mfg won't suggest or recommend a 0w-40 is mpg.

The 0w-40 is the only Mobil 1 that can be counted on for extended drains.

Yes it is. XM says 15K, which I have a friend doing 15K OCIs with very good sucess. I do 10K + with the M1 EP oil with fine results as well. Right now I have almost 11K on my presant OC. Plan to change right away.

M1 EP isn't my thing. Although, counter Audi Junkie, I consider manufacturer approvals to be meaningless in the greater scheme of things.

Nope. It can be counted on for relatively long OEM drains. EP is the only M1 marketed to exceed OEM specifications.

0w-40 synthetics or (GC) 0w30 seem to be ideal oils...eve if 5W-20 is called for...wonder why?

Maybe 30 wt oils are still the best hands down choice?

TDT can be as well, but doesn't have much in the way of gas certifications.
