Friend of mine was buried on tuesday at the age of 34. i hadnt seen him for awhile but he was someone i was always a friend to. last time we spoke it was a good visit and i am glad i saw him. he clocked out and i just wish i could have helped him because i miss him very much. my message to all is check up on people you know and love and ask how they are doing. some people are dealing with issues; dont leave them to it alone. i hope i never have to deal with a self inflicting death from someone i know. i dont understand why they left and i cant tell them how important they are to me.

It's the finality of the act that gets to me. There is no re-call, no do-over. I would hate to think that someone that I know was in distress enough to do that, without me knowing about it or if I could have helped them in some way.

So sorry to hear about your friend !!

We took my brother in law approx. 23 months ago when he needed a place to stay. His two other brothers laughed and looked the other way. He was just this side of being on a slab of ice at the local mortuary. He had a terrible sinus infection but never went to see a doctor since the job he had at the time did not have medical coverage. My wife was able to get his infection under control and he currently has a job now with medical benefits. We could have let him flail in the wind like what his brothers and dad did but what would we have to answer too ?

My sincerest condolences. I know the feeling of losing a friend in a sudden manner. My best friend from our early teens until he just died in his sleep at age 35, was here and having a great time with his then 5 year old Son one day, and then was gone the next.

Quite a shock, and hard to deal with regardless of the circumstances.

Try to remember the good times. Eventually the pain eases a bit.

Oh my... Sorry to hear that.

We ALL need to keep up on our health. If you're due or feel something's not right, get in.
I did and it may have saved my life.

It's hard enough to deal with the loss of a loved one when god decides its time.
It's much more difficult when your best friends Mom calls to let you know he took his own life.
I don't think I'll ever be the same person again after that happened.

Prayers sent.

I lost a friend and former co-worker like that who had lost his wonderful wife to cancer a few years before. I wish I knew his pain was so unbearable then I would have spent as much time with him buddying up as I could. I feel for you, man.

I've also lost a good friend in the same way..its heart breaking to see the pain they cause their family and loved ones. In my friends case he left 3 young children behind. I'll never understand what made him come to the decision he did. Just goes to show how important ones mental health really is and how dark of a place it can put you in if your not healthy. I honestly dont think people would do this to themselves if they knew the pain it caused their family members. I spent a lot of time with his kids after the fact and those poor kids were completely devastated. Luckily they had a lot of support not only from me but other family members and they are all doing OK now (its been 10 years already). His daughter had a child and we (my wife and I) are her god parents in the event something happens to both parents and grandma.
The point of this rambling is as bad as it hurts you just keep the family in mind. If you know them and you can help them in anyway possible they will be forever grateful. Lord knows they need all the help they can get in a time like this.

Sorry for your loss...

For me, it was my father taking his own life when I was 16. It took another 16 years for me to understand it was his past experiences before I was born that he could not deal with (Korea front lines, machine gun nest, 18 years old).

Prayers sent...

Marco, I feel for you Bud and I can relate. I lost my 24yr/old nephew/Godson a little over a month ago by the same means.

The only thing I can do is believe he's at peace now.

Marco - so sorry to hear about your friend.

Boczech - you're a good man. That alone is something to be valued.

"All forms that parish, other forms supply, By turns we catch the vital breath and die, Like bubbles on the sea of matter born, They rise , they break and to that sea return." Can't remember the author(it has been many years since my college days) but I remember how much reading those words affected me. Recall also reading something by Dostoyevsky about dying but can't come up with it.
