Lets talk about new vehicles

Three people are enjoying it at least

Im currently in the hospital so I have the time and why are guys like you even in my thread anyway.
You can't annoy me so why keep trying. Move on to greener grass or enjoy it
Sorry about you being at the Hospital...but what does have to do with keeping this thread - NOT your thread - useless for so long.

Hope you get well soon.

The best sales guy was the Jeep guy. Young kid. I do like the GC...
Poor kid went with me and fell asleep on the test drive...lol

Little slow today...GHT?
He's a master of lengthy threads that go nowhere fast, mainly just for self serving attention grab, asking for advice but not actually interested in following any of it...

Reminded me of OP a little because he is all over the board, and the field keeps widening instead of narrowing with no end in sight. It has its entertainment value, I suppose. Certainly not against forum rules.

One can only wonder what your next username

Gentlemen, let’s stop the personal direction this thread has taken.

If you don’t like the idea of somebody publicly wondering about what car to buy, a legitimate topic on a car related site, then please just don’t comment. Don’t read the thread.

Please stop the personal comments, name calling, accusation, comparison to trolls, whatever.

Thanks.

I did not say you were him. Please go back and re-read my earlier post.

All I said was this thread reminded me of him. I have nothing to apologize for.

You came in with the others with negativity where it wasn't warranted. You know it but that is ok. I find it funny we can talk about oil endlessly here but this honest thread bothers a few of you. Why? No idea but it is what it is.

No hard feelings....edit

Cujet (sp) had some really great Nissan comments. Altima seemed to be a rental star. High mpg too at 90 mph.. Crazy

Ollie where did you source your CVT info above at.

Sadly an internet search. In all honesty I have not ever driven a CVT other than my KFX 700 quad. My understanding is the Subaru's have the most reliable ones. I personally would not have a problem owning one if test drove it and was impressed.

The Arteon thrills me with the hood design and the rear hatch. I really like it but VW has it to be axed soon and that brings up other issues.

I have owned many and prefer them.
Same with auto stop because of the various hybrids I have owned.
Even the old Honda Element transmission reminded me of a cvt but wasn't had what I remember as grade logic. With a cvt you dont fight the hills and down shift. I am very used to them.
The Subaru bothers me from a reliability standpoint. Hard to figure out what problem areas were resolved in the latest offerings. But that oil filter mounting is tempting...

I got a ride back from the mechanics in a forester and was impressed with the seamless gearing. Pretty darn smooth. It is really hard to argue the reliability of Honda and Toyota's. Heck my wife's 21 year old Lexus ES300 still runs like a top with no major issues.

I would like to see some long term ownership reviews on the Subarus. I used to have a Subaru Brat and it served me well until I broke a front shaft. My fault though for running it with torn boots and clunks until it broke.
