Lets talk about new vehicles

I had one Lincoln it was very comfortable and decently reliable I'd buy another. But I'm with you the styling is too gaudy for my taste on most of them. I prefer the understated more conservative styling typical of German makes which to me has it's own flavor of attractive.

Any updates on what you’re leaning towards?
I have a busy hospital week but will try to get to the Mazda dealer and then a few others
I do not like cars that try to put you in a claustrophobic space and I hope the Mazda CX5 doesn't.
I do see they narrow towards the pedals. I do have one stand out but it would require me to crank up the budget over 50%
more I can swing it but that brings me to a point I will worry where I park and all of that nonsense.

That bothers me and I'm not over the top in that respect but I don't want to own anything I worry over.
And yes to the haters I still want to see the all new Outlander ( Early April they tell me)
Why? It is an honest basic ride with a long warranty and easy servicing- at least they used to be
Thanks!

That Volvo dealer had a CPO S90 with 40K miles on it
He showed me the CarFax- two sets of brakes and rotors?
Is that what you get with Volvo- this was a 2018 with one owner

Two sets of brakes and rotors in a 2018 model Jim? I’d stay away from that. That or the previous owner was rough and rode the brakes constantly.

Yeah I saw that and it bothered me
I suspect that is why it is a CPO?? lol
And the CPO dealer did not do it- that was 7K miles earlier...

The other thing about Lincolns (or domestic brands in general) is the styling changes. If you'd bought a brand new 12 MKZ, when the 13s came out you were hosed with a months old car that instantly looked out of date.

On the flip side, if you were going used (nearly new) Lincolns are a ton of car for barely more money than a Ford after a couple of years. I know you are looking new though.

Our 2014 Fusion Hybrid is nearing 140k and still has original brake pads (re generation braking)
Yeah I think yours is winning. This one has 25,000 on it. When I inspected it they were at 4/32 about a month ago so they will probably last the rest of this year at least because we don’t drive it a whole lot. It doesn’t have regenerative braking though but that is great that yours have lasted that long.

If I could find a gently used one I would consider it
Rarely do I ever find a car that is in the shape I'm after

By two sets do you mean one set of fronts and one set of rears? Or two sets of fronts and two sets of rears?

Jim, I worked on a 2016 Lincoln yesterday for my neighbors dad. It took 2 hours to pull the intake plenum off to change a fuel pressure regulator. He is a mechanic himself and didn’t want to do it I’d stay away from a 2016 Lincoln they aren’t friendly to work on. 🙂.

I hope you charged him
