Do you know anything about the generic/no-name conventional oil that is sold Kroger? It's always at a good price. Much better than auto parts stores, and only about 50 cents higher than Walmart's SuperTech.

If the Kroger brand is 50 cents more than WM's supertech than why not just buy a namebrand oil at WM....like Pennzoil,Valvoline or Quaker State.

I think that the oil is made by Warren Unilube. This is not the Warren Performance Products that makes Super Tech and they are not linked in any way.

Warren Unilube makes their own products and many private label brands.

I got this from Business Week about Warren Unilube...
--------------------------------------------
Warren Unilube, Inc. produces lubricants and automotive chemicals. It offers motor oils, transmission fluids, hydraulic fluids, gear oils, tractor fluids, brake fluids, greases, windshield washer fluid, additives, power steering fluids, antifreezes, aerosols, and power cleans. The company also provides citrus hand cleaners, protectants, and oil spill cleaners, as well as heavy duty lubricants for construction, fleet, industrial, automotive, agriculture, and marine applications. Warren Unilube, Inc. was formerly known as Coastal Unilube, Inc. and changed its name to Warren Unilube, Inc. in December 2003 as a result of its acquisition by Warren Oil Co., Inc. The company was founded in 1947 and is based in West Memphis, Arkansas. As of December 30, 2003, Warren Unilube, Inc. is a subsidiary of Warren Oil Company, Inc.

I'm going to keep looking at them, but it looks like I have found a new, good quality, low priced oil.
