It's not working again!!

Have you tried to use the search recently?? I tried and we are now limited to only searching posts within the past month. Here's the message I received on three attempts to search within the period for the past year:

The specified date range is too wide. The maximum date range you can search with is 1 month

Just use google. You can specify which site you want to search. Example search:

0W-30 site:www.bobistheoilguy.com

Just use the google enhanced bitog search right above the Recent Topics column. Type in your subject and hit SEARCH.

In a similar vein to what ctc mentions, the BITOG Search (Google Site Search) on upper left of Forums section works like a champ and no need to put in the site qualifier.

Thanks. I never noticed the new Google search box; I have a habit of using the original built-in search feature. Hopefully the original search will be removed to avoid confusion especially with its limitations.

The google search annoys me but unfortunately I have to use it with the one month limit on the search.

Even the standard search worked fine as long as you limited the span. It ran into troubles if you left the "older than" empty. It seemed to limit it to 200 finds. On a longer/deeper search I would have to index the time base to contain those 200. That's just how I integrated the way it worked for me.

Maybe it is saving bandwidth or computer processing power.

If the Gov't was involved, I would say it was revisionist history being promoted!

Top left corner is google search, not the forum search...

It's unfortunate we have to rely on Google now to search BITOG; at least for anything older than a month.. And you can't specifically search a single section, just the whole board?
