Sirius XM pricing

They practically give it away for free because they have nothing of value to offer that can't be had for free/cheaper/better elsewhere.
Agreed. And my understanding is they lost a class action where they tried to say lifetime plan follows a radio ID, not a person. My other car has had it 4 years after I canceled so I assume it’s on a lifetime plan

Yeah, I get those promo's ALL the time, just in the last week or so, dug through my desk garbage can and pulled this one out.

I stream Apple Music so I dont subscribe but sometimes I do take them up on it. I think maybe the last time was a 6 month free trial. I then cancelled. Once you do you get relentless promos as others posted. I bet every other month. This one wasnt the best price I had so I pass. Still as the OP posted, if you are a subscriber you do not have to pay retail price. It then goes on to say after twelve months it will auto-renew at the price the OP listed $23.05 ..

I offered them a $1000.00 (negotiable) for a lifetime. An emphatic NO...They will not entertain the question.....
How did you arrive at that number? Imho $1000 is good for 30 years. Meaning I think that’s the break even on $1000. I doubt they’ll even be around that long. Not sure if I’ll be either 😂

I’d pay maybe $299 for life. But have to be able to switch cars.

The text function is great as you can carry on the negotiation for hours only using a few seconds of your time with every message.

I haven't had to do that as mine has automatically renewed at $99 a year for the last two years so I save my time and just pay it. I don't know why it's that price.

But that’s expensive? The $99 deal is for 3 years, not 1. I guess as someone pointed out, to them, it really doesn’t matter what anyone pays but of course they’d rather have autorenews at the highest possible rates. It wouldn’t seem to be very easy to land new customers so they churn present and past…

$99.00 a year is not expensive for XM. That's a good subscription. That $99.00 for three years is very rare-I have never seen it.

I have been a subscriber since they launched the first satellite. I know what deals are out there.

Do you have XM radio? What plan at what rate?

I guess I am of the type that I prefer to try to get the best price that I am aware of. Everyone left and right has $4/mo, or $48/yr. But that’s before taxes. $99/3 years is $127 after tax and fees. Again if someone here said they got $99 for 6 years, then I would ask for it. This is personal business and we don’t even know the person on the phone. There is zero reason to be shy and not speak up. And one can also remain polite.

You can ask for it-doesn't mean you will get it. You are dealing with a call center and THEY DO NOT HAVE FREE REIGN to give you what ever price-they have parameters-and those are not necessarily based on what somebody else is charged at some past time . SO-you best rate is going to be to cancel and as has shown above-wait for an offer in the mail.

Obviously -you are commenting but do not have first hand experience dealing with a yearly conversation with them to renew.

Yes, I said I want $4 after tax and fees. I refer to it as Billy Shatner’s name your price tool. They would put me on hold to do the calculation. Because the current offer was $4 before taxes. They’d come back and say all set. I’d verify when the email came a few minutes later. They’d calculate the $4 before taxes and fees, let the taxes and fees apply, and credit them back. It would never be $24 exactly because I was already in a current period. Say it expired Aug 31, and today is Aug 18. The new period is 8/18-2/17/25. Then there’s a credit for 8/18-8/31.

August 2020, I asked for the $4 after tax and fees deal that we had at least 2 1/2 years. It was a man. He said, “Sir, there is no such price.” So I said OK I’m not driving anyway, let’s cancel it. He said no problem please hold. It still works today.

Xm is likely messed up. To draw an analogy imagine ineffective handling of area codes over so many years. Or the YMCA swim testing kids for green/orange/red and then looking them up on a tablet/google sheet.
The sheet is so large they can’t find kids or after the swim test kid was never entered.

I just got an offer from XM, 2 cars, 2 logins, $10/mo, has the radio IDs, when both radio IDs currently have service.

Again as many have said it really doesn’t matter what they get paid or not. One car of ours is $0/mo and the other $2.75/mo. So they want me to go from $2.75 to $10/mo. That’s actually smart on their part. If I accept, they’ve increased the revenue, while providing nothing that they are not already, as I type.
