i am glad somebody has a clue around here...........

but i am so worried, is my engine "safe"??

Actually I would say buy any ***major branded*** oil. I know of many stories of unscrupulous distributors selling API SF('intended' for export)40WT as GF4 5-w30, or "GF4" oils underadditized by blenders. Major brands have too much at risk to do this. There is NO, repeat NO effective policing of the API specs...gets stalled by certain parties in the industry, only North Carolina checks oil as I recall...and that's not a full check of the spec only partial.

"Any" oil claiming API of GF4 can be CRUD

The API regularly does periodic testing of motor oil to confirm quality. They buy off the shelf from stores and run verification testing.
