Thanks for posting. I daily drive an 86 K20 with a small block. I change to 15w40 in April and to 10w30 in October. It doesn’t see many miles on an OCI because my commute is only a short trip. Makes me feel better to change it every 6 months. I also add some Schaeffer oil treatment when I have it. Again, just makes me feel better.
 
Kind of strange that they recommend 5w-20 only from temps of 20*F or lower, but 10w can be used from 0* to 60*f. What’s with that?

i also wonder what that engine would look like fire 50k with the 7500 miles changes on what would probably be group 1 oils.

Don't know the maintenance history of new-to-me engine, but will definitely post pics when I get a peek under valve cover gaskets. Also interesting how with 7500 mile oil changes the oil filter has the recommendation to run for 2 OCIs, in 1978...
