Last time I bought a pail of oil, it came with a spout and I didn't need to install a little pump or such.

Does anyone know if HPL's pails are a plain lid of whether they are the spout kind like Delvac comes with?

I had no idea where to post this question, so mods please move as you deem appropriate.

As one that has used the pails they are excellent quality with a quality pour spout.
How heavy is it to lift and pour a massive pail of oil? I had never considered ordering one due to the sheer weight of having to lift it up and pour. Plus probably kind of hard to gauge when to stop pouring I would assume. Please disabuse me of this notion if I'm wrong.

It's 5 gallons. ~40 lbs.

I use a transfer jug.

I know their gallon jugs don’t have windows to see how much is left. 5 qt jugs would be great.

I use a larger measuring pitcher like one might use for mixing herbicide on the farm. 1.5 gallons I think? Maybe 2? Anyway, it’s easy enough to measure what’s going in and out of the pitcher and easy enough to pour without missing.

Can you share a picture?
I can not as it was thrown out in the trash after use. I have poured from pails every workday of life for past 30 years including today but most weighing 60to70lbs it’s no big deal to me and poured the pail on the kitchen countertop with wife watching. Transferred into a gallon empty jug using a scale and filled by weight is what I did and recommend I’ll post a hack maybe today for the first little volume out to make it a bit easier for a newbie. It always amazes me how people fret over pouring a 5 gallon pail it’s weird really it’s not difficult at all. I could post alot of containers I get sent from manufacturers that are a bit challenging.
I work in paint manufacturing if people want to know.
