HPL July 4th Sale - What Do You Plan on Buying?

It is all about the “art of the deal” and u need to walk away from the table if it doesn’t meet ur expectations.
I have enough HPL till next July 2026 and waiting for HPL to migrate to API SQ. Lol
I'm planning on retiring soon, so part of my grand scheme is to buy it while I know I can afford to do so. Otherwise, I might have to "settle". Besides, no use waiting for SQ, since my owner's manual specifies SN or higher (yes, I know Q comes after N, but so does P).

Either grabbing a 4 1 gallon case of CK-4 5w30 or 10w30. The remaining 5w30 I have will go in the gf’s daughter’s car and my gf’s vehicle and my old 09’ Focis.

Too bad they won’t make a 5w-20 CK- as they did when it was CJ-4 rated.

I gotta get though my stash before I buy any more oil. Have 2 jugs of M1EP. 3-4 PP, 4-5 VRP and maybe 5 Kirkland. Once I get through that, I'll buy some more. Might be HPL, might be VRP, might be Amsoil.

An 6 qt HPL Euro 5W40 change for me is ~$100. Less than any shop/dealer. Once a year. Folks act like this premium product has some unreal $$$ barrier of entry...
Fuel dilution sucks. Otherwise this 4th I would have hoarded 5 x 12 quart cases. $25 flat shipping fee for all that plus 20% discount on the oil. That's a really reasonable price for such a superb oil. 12k mile OCI should be a piece of cake for HPL.

Not using super premium oil and going to Grease Monkey instead is like not preparing a very healthy and nutritious meal at home and instead going to Five Guys, and then claiming quality food is out of reach. Do you really think Five Guys is cheap? Crappy for sure but its not cheap. Just all carbs, fat, and I'm not so sure about protein.

I’ve been using P-PCMO for a few years now, but this time I’m planning to switch to PP-PCMO. My LS3 takes 2 gallons to fill up, so I’m still deciding whether to get one or two cartons. 🤷‍♂️

Ill miss this years as I’ve got 2 more OCIs of VRP on my TSX that should put me around the HPL Black Friday 2026 Sale.

HPL 0W20 is being drained from my wife’s suv in a couple thousand miles and switching to ESP for the 6 month / 5k-ish intervals as our plan is to get rid of that vehicle in a year or so.

My answer for Black Friday 2026 though will be a few years worth of Supercar 0W30 for my car.

So what am I getting with just their basic oil? I used premium and the premium plus in the past but feel like it was a waste due to draining to soon.

Then the PCMO is for you. The more expensive formulas give you better cold start, better shear protection ("no vii"), longer run time. They all clean equally well and have excellent base stocks.

I run the PCMO as well and do a fair amount of towing with it. I change my twice a year which works out to be about 6500 to 7500 miles and the UOAs always show I could have gone much further.
