HPL July 4th Sale - What Do You Plan on Buying?

I'm going to add 24 more quarts (two 12-packs) of Premium Plus PCMO 0w-20 to the 12-pack I bought the end of May.

Before switching to it, I'm going to use up the Amsoil SS 0w-20 I have on the shelf, which is enough for two more oil changes. With the number of miles we drive, this should be enough total oil to last four or five years, which is the suggested maximum shelf life per Amsoil, but should also apply to HPL. I'll keep everything in my special closet inside where I store other goodies so it's not exposed continually to the Texas heat.

I will continue to use the Amsoil EA15K13 filters. I have two and will order six more so I'll have enough total stock for 8 oil changes.

Next oil change, I'll show my wife how to do it in case I die before the stock's depleted. Although it's not recommended, maybe I should keep the torque wrench set to 30lb-ft so she won't over-tighten the drain plug?

You are in Texas and not in Northern Canada, I would go with 5W-30, hope the Zero W 20 works out for you!

I thought about placing an order but have a case of torco, 2 cases of HPS and several jugs of Mobil 1. @ $50 a gallon for ppcmo my wife would be crazy upset and I wouldn’t blame her. Plus I don’t do oil analysis so I’d never know when the oil is done for so I can’t justify using it.

I’m considering this but did find some other deals going on.

Not to rain on the parade, but last year’s July 4 promo was 25% off. I recalled that spectacular discount and verified that it was 25% off. Passing on this year’s promotion.

Maybe if I'm the first to order at 00:00:01hours, the BITOG15 discount code will not have been removed and it will stack with the 20% off! They'll quickly figure out their error, but not until my order is placed. <Bwa-ha-ha-ha>!

My only gripe:

I just wish they could get rid of the shipping part of the promotion, and work those customer savings into a higher sale percent instead. That would allow Canadians to benefit from the same discount from HPL that Americans get. So get rid of the $25 flat fee shipping, and make the sale percent 25 or 30 or whatever it works out to be. Because Canadians don't get the $25 flat fee shipping.

Great deal...helps offset shipping. I'm good...I have 4 and change gal of the Euro 5W40 so enough for the 2 cars' (Sportwagen [6 qt] and Passat [9 qt]) changes I have coming up sometime this year plus top-off for the track. I need to remember to wait until this sale in 2026 to get my next changes/annual stash!

definitely not hpl. what is the psychology in paying more for oil like amsoil and this hpl? I personally never used either I know many of peoples along with auto mechanics that never used these brands and never even suggested them.
Fair question. I've been using Amsoil products since 1976 and never experienced any lubricant-related failures. Does this mean I would have if I hadn't been using it? Don't know, but for me, it's worth the "investment". To others, it's a waste of time and money.

We can agree to disagree, right?. I'm pretty sure that's still allowed when it comes to engine lubrication, although some threads I've read...

Nada, have decided that the oil I have in stock is my last. I'll not be doing any of my own changes when it gone. At age 70.5 it hurts to much 2 days later, stiff neck and upper back 3-4 changes left. Then I'll sell my ramps so I'm not tempted. The shipping is a good deal for stocking up IMO.
