@AutoMechanic never chimed in about his hotel stays vs vacation rentals...Inquiring minds want to know...
I much prefer hotels Jim. Vacation rentals just feel like I’m staying at someone else’s house and don’t feel like vacation. And you don’t get the fancy mini bars of soap and shampoo at vacation rentals.@AutoMechanic never chimed in about his hotel stays vs vacation rentals...Inquiring minds want to know...
Dude thanks but soap and deodorant should have zero impact on one's life.... you have to be living for something else other than that nonsense. You're like Kcjeep and his GTL...you need an interventionI much prefer hotels Jim. Vacation rentals just feel like I’m staying at someone else’s house and don’t feel like vacation. What makes it fun Jimmy is going to the front desk and getting more for the road lol. You should see my bathroom cabinet I’ve got a whole container of hotel soaps and shampoos and conditioners and I can’t be the only one who does this lolDude thanks but soap and deodorant should have zero impact on one's life.... you have to be living for something else other than that nonsense. What's wrong with you broWhat makes it fun Jimmy is going to the front desk and getting more for the road lol. I don’t go to any fake hotels with those body wash and soap dispensers in the shower.
For many years I spent way too many nights on the road - like 80 to 100. My wife told me to stop bringing that stuff home, she was tired of throwing it out. What makes it fun Jimmy is going to the front desk and getting more for the road lol. I believe the last hotel we stayed at that still had actual bars of soap was probably Red Roof Inn a few years back. I was unaware all of them had made this change. Luckily I always bring a bar of soap and bottle of shampoo with me for those fake hotels lol.For many years I spent way too many nights on the road - like 80 to 100. Now they all have gone to the euro style fixed bottles, which I do find a little gross for some reason. They all have done it - Marriott, IHG, Hilton. Which non fake hotels have not - maybe I change.
It seems they are all doing it. Its been that way in Europe forever so its not surprising. I am sure its monumentally cheaper for the hotel also. Another fall off from covid - just like no making up your room except every 3rd night or something unless you request it.I believe the last hotel we stayed at that still had actual bars of soap was probably Red Roof Inn a few years back. I’ll check it out Jim. Haven’t watched any movies since last year.@AutoMechanic you need to watch Grand Hotel from 1932.....
I even liked it.....
My dad said when he was growing up they never went on vacation just day trips. Probably still expensive come the 60s and 70s when he was growing up.Yeah me either but I really like the movie...Hotels in that day in that area were for the rich....that was a cool place to be back then..
I bet @Pablo father stayed there
Neither did i.....My dad said when he was growing up they never went on vacation just day trips. Probably still expensive come the 60s and 70s when he was growing up.
The bed thing is the same as a hotel but I agree..when I get a vacation rental I bring my own sheets and pillows etc. I bring my UV air purifier and a bag of my germ goodies..I HATE Hotels... The idea someone I don't know was on that mattress 4 hours before my check-in bothers me but I can get over it I guess. I have a friend that works at a big chain hotel. Bedbugs are a BIG Issue that is not talked about. much.
His situation got so bad the lobby and office furniture had to be replaced, not to mention the rooms! It got so bad some bugs hitched a ride home with him and he then had a infestation at his house! He said he used Diatomaceous Earth to control those little guys. I never visited my friends home again and would not even let him ride in my car... Bed Bugs, you don't want them!
I'm not a fan of not having a quick exit from a building. As small and bad as some old motels were I liked having a door to the outside in my room and not having to use a elevator and exit / enter via a lobby.
I do MUCH better when I vacation to rent a Home on VRBO etc as I get the entire house and even a garage for when I travel with motorcycle and dogs.
Hotels depending on the area can be feast or famine. Sometimes they have to markup certain events or days to offset days they have low occupancy.Yeah that's it
I got a great price but it went crazy. Must have been a event in town.
Hopefully that was Chimmie
Don't tell Wayne but Chimmie and I share a login...Hopefully that was Chimmie![]()
