Honda 15400-RTA-003 / '09 Fit / 5k miles (1,5years) / Ethanol use

Hello all!

• Car: 2009 Honda Fit 1.3L / Flex Fuel
• Country: Brazil
• Filter: 15400-RTA-003 (Mahle Tennex)
• Oil: Motul 6100 5W30 Syn-nergy A3/B4
• Time on filter: From Nov/19 to May/21
• Mileage on filter: ~5k Miles
• Mileage on car: 48k
• Fuel used: 100% hydrous ethanol (may have had 1 tank of gas during this OCI)
• Usage: This car stays with the family and sees lots of short trips on city use and some occasional long trips.

Same filter and oil combo went back in, enjoy!

This picture looks it has metal on the filter. Was it metal?

Hey wwillson!

I should have said that, but since i don't have a filter cutter some blue debris of the can have fallen on the top side of the media, as you can see on that image. But no metal i could find besides that, i took the picture with the light on, so the oil is also reflecting a bit.

The last 2 pics of the media are more dry, so it gives a reliable view of its condition

Yes, using ethanol the oil don't go black as fast as using gas. To be fair i thought the oil would be cleaner, but considering the time it was in use and the amount of short trips, it hold well (at least on the visible side)
