Used to use Castrol Pro religiously but then when they stopped being factory fill for VW/Audi all of a sudden finding the same retail bottling in OEM spec I had been using turned impossible, it was like they just turned off the spigot. I'm sure it was some supply chain boogaloo mixed with legal garbage but put a bad taste in my mouth. Switched to MOTUL for a bit, didn't see anything bad but nothing spectacular either from OA on the Golf R with mixed street/HPDE so went to AMSOIL just recently, will be sending the first OA out this weekend.
Reading this whole thread the no-VII stuff sounds like magic juice and was thinking about trying it in the Touareg as it is so special and I want it to last forever. Currently at 99k miles, about 10k a year with at least 60% being towing miles for track days. My question is the regular HPL Euro shows it has the 507 standard but the no-VIIs do not show this? I still have 18 months on my TDI warranty and don't plan to give them any out to covering any issues so is that an oversight on the webpage, something legal that's coming or is there some reason it doesn't meet that spec? I can't imagine why other than legal stuff but wanted to ask.
