Don’t know… any idea which machine/test that is? We can always ask…

It’s basically the clutch friendly indicator of a lubricant. For motorcycles with shared sump systems (clutch is bathed in the same oil that lubes the engine), the JASO-MA2 rating more or less is the guarantee that friction modifiers won’t bed into the clutch plates and cause a loss of friction (and therefore a loss of power transfer).

Wondering if HPL does their own in-house friction testing to see if the oil meets the JASO friction test specs?

I would assume they already have something that meets the “clutch friendly” lubricant need, I’m just not sure which one off the top of my head.
