We saw a lot, had a blast too. Now at Texas steakhouse and enjoying a beerMake sure you see the Memphis Belle exhibit, truly stunning, 13 year restoration. I was there for the unveiling. They run a film about it in the Museum's theatre, well worth the time. The Belle is now considered a National Icon and the display area is a National Shrine to the 8th AAF, they lost over 29,000 airmen in the daylight bombing raids. The Belle was the 1st B17 to complete 25 missions over Europe in 1943. Pilot Robert Morgan never lost a crewmember in those flights, he then flew 26 missions in the B29 "Dauntless Dotty" in the Pacific Theatre, never lost a crewman there either. Remarkable place, its a 2-3 day tour if you really want to see it all. Admission is free.
We saw all four halls. Very cool placeMake certain to visit all four halls. There are airplanes in that museum that do not exist anywhere else. The XB-70 being at the top of my list of “must see” airplanes while you’re there.
