Going to Baltimore and Washington D.C. This Summer. Looking for Hotel Recommendations.

I’m not familiar with Fairfield Inn I’ve seen them around, are they on the same level as say Candlewood Suites, Hampton Inn, Homewood Suites, Best Western, Holiday Inn , etc.
Friend and I stayed at Fairfield Inn in Council Bluffs, IA. a couple times.
The pool water was warm as a bath, that really impressed us!

Nothing fancy and a decent free breakfast. Only thing I hated was no restroom at the pool area.
You can guess what that encourages. :ROFLMAO:

$150 near a stadium in those particular cities puts you into danger zone in terms of hotel neighbors. Good luck.

Going out of city will find safe places but then you pay to park or Uber into stadium .
I have extended my budget a bit since I got the tickets and parking pass given to me so I can spend a bit more on the hotel now. I’m finding decent ones for about $200 a night or so.

A couple of earlier replies mentioned both of these. Hopefully they fit the budget.

I stayed in DC at the Embassy Suites (by Hilton) Chevy Chase Pavilion, 4300 Military Rd. NW, as the overflow hotel for a conference. It cost more than I would have paid normally, but work reimbursed it. Very nice, and there's a metro station in the basement.

The Hotel at Arundel is also nice. I stayed there to attend an event at the old Montgomery Ward building somewhere downtown. It was a reasonable drive between the two, and a good choice price and safety-wise since I didn't know Baltimore at all.

The hotels in the Crystal City area outside DC also seem good. I visited family who were staying there once, but don't remember which hotel.

Most DC area hotels will probably charge you for parking on top of everything else, so check the websites for that.

So I’ve talked with my dad more and he said what might be a good idea is to just leave early for DC the Thursday morning get up there by 11ish or so for the 12pm game and then when it ends head straight to the hotel at Baltimore (or nearby) we are booking it tonight. That would save some money and not have to worry about anything because the main attractions we want to see are in Baltimore anyway.

The main thing is quality time with your dad. 🙂

We are finalizing our plans for an August trip to San Diego. We’ll be at Petco Park for a couple of games versus the Pirates. One of the games will be a Tony Gwynn jersey promotion, in honor of the 25th anniversary of his 3000th career hit.
