Do a lot of the above things. But as mentioned eating cholesterol (eggs) is not an issue. I do all those good things but also do the meds./

Guess what killed old people (other than sickness).."hardening of the arteries"(cholesterol)/high BP.

Good Afternoon folks. Asking for the real brother in Boiling Springs PA. He is on a low dose cholesterol med. I said I’d stay away from lunch meats, too many eggs and maybe try low fat milk or oat/almond milk (I use and love the oat milk).

Thank You all
FWIW to you, I eat a "ton" of eggs. 3-4 most days, about 2 dz per week.
Then my DO told me to eat as many eggs as I feel like eating, but I would have anyway.
When I increased eating eggs I had bloodwork done and my total cholesterol went down from 249 to under 200.

Eggs are super nutritious, being a great source of selenium the antioxidant mineral, and choline, which is a lesser-known B complex vitamin that helps metabolize blood lipids.
IMHO a lot of people fret about their cholesterol needlessly.
If you have a cholesterol of at least 200 when you reach 80, they say you stand a good chance of living to 90 or 100.
Stay away from eating anything low fat. Eat the whole food, just less of it if you think it's a problem food.
I don't do cow milk at all. I hate the way it causes mucus in my throat.

Don't overdo fruit. Don't eat processed foods. Stick to real food from fruit, vegetables, meats, fish, eggs, nuts, seeds, and properly prepared legumes. I do like some sourdough bread 2-3x a week. And Jasmine rice from Thailand sometimes.
They say coconut oil will balnace blood lipids, also ghee. But sometimes I love real butter.

your body requires cholesterol to live!!! lots of new research on it with various views! for sure carbs raise triglycerides not fat. modern medical is sometimes slow to adopt new views when the present guidelines bring a lot of $$$$ in. search + learn for yourself, good health is wealth + a happy healthy easter to all! one very important item i read about if you choose to use satin drugs i have seen a lot of recommendations to supplement with coenzyme Q 10 a very important heart nutrient. years ago you might have read about Mercks "dirty little secret" their early satin contained 100 mg of Q10 but they did not market it, go figure!! research + learn about Q-10
