No, I left it in the car. I just walked in by myself and explained to the officer the situation which he didn’t seem to care lolI don't think I'd walk into a police station carrying a pistol.

That’s what I end up doing. None of the police stations wanted to do anything. They all gave me the runaround. LolThis gun wasn't on the streets, it was in the glove box.
Seriously, best advice given here is to drive the car back to where you got it, drop it off and tell them why. It's their problem, not yours.
I did return the car when my car was finished lol gas is expensive lolHe'll be just fine . I would hope by now he has returned the vehicle and the gun , to the dealer .
Whoever left it there, should not own a firearm.Went this morning for warranty work and dealership gave me a loaner all good and dandy. Until I made a turn, I heard something sliding around in the glove box I paid no attention to the noise until it was annoying then I opened up glove box and behold there’s a firearm in a case call the dealership told me to go to the nearest police station went to my nearest police station. They told me it’s not their jurisdiction and to go to the county the dealership is located. I kind of found that weird they did not want to get involved for a firearm. Any thoughts?

Close story here, Glock 26 in a Suburban I bought. Why the concern….the car you are driving IS A DEADLY WEAPON! One used to commit vehicular homicide every day. I’m glad the car and the gun are returned now.
Rental car outfits deal with this frequently.
My son bought a used SL 190 Mercedes a couple of decades ago. He found a Colt 1911 pistol under one seat and an Omega Seamaster under the other. Extra good deal!
Not a big deal IMO. Back in the late 1970s about 1/4 of the student parking lot at my high school probably had a gun in their unlocked vehicles during hunting season.
Its an inanimate object like any other until someone touches it. I would also just take the car back to the dealer. They can do with it as they wish. That’s what I’m going to end up doing none of the police stations wanted to take responsibility which that really blows my mind and they’re trying to get firearms off the streets and nobody seems to care
Welcome to the South. That I believe I’m originally from New York
I got an old school adult video in the trunk of a loaner once. Seems like some low quality antique that only people 30 years older than me would be interested in.I never get anything cool left in vehicles for me like that. I'm sure it has a couple hundred dollars of street value lol
ill say it....keep it.I'm not saying I'd keep it, but...
Different vehicle or different gun?Very irresponsible gun owner, but yea it's the dealers problem. Bring the car back and get a different one
Is both an option?Different vehicle or different gun?
Where’s the sense of adventureNo way, I wouldn't touch it with a 10' pole.
