Ford cuts prices of F-150 Lightening by 7-16%.

Who knows. Wonder what the warranty and requirements for the warranty is.

Here is the issue that I take with the EV thing:

It has been touted to the ignorant masses as a "zero emissions" thing. "Save the planet" "Super efficient" and so on. And while some of the claims are true, most are skewed from the truth, which makes it a lie. That is why on many advertisements now, in the fine print, they state "zero emissions....... AT THE TAILPIPE"

To move an object of a certain weight, at a certain speed, in a certain time, no matter how you slice it, the power consumption is always the same. Where it comes from is the difference.

Most of this is aimed at those who think earth is flat and perpetual motion is possible. If there was a little more truth behind it I would be all for it. Just tired of all the lies.

Does any one know how much it costs at a charging station of fully charge a Tesla?
I agree 100%.

You simply take everything that is said negatively about EV's, as a personal attack on your choice..... It's not. Your whole "return the favor" comment proves this. He's not attacking YOU. Nor is he being, "condescending". That is just how you interpret it. You're the one who needs to grow up.... Or grow thicker skin.
Read it again. You just agree with his point. Either he thinks people buying them are stupid or he thinks the manufacturer assumes people are stupid. "Ignorant masses." It's literally a post that finds another way in every line to call someone an idiot. What does that solve?

Tesla owners. We don't do this for multiple reasons. It's so much cheaper to charge at home. Literally unless you're on a trip no one uses them unless they have to. They're great when you need them, but fully charging is more a waste of time than money, but it won't save you much over gas if you only use a charging station. That's why they clog up in highly populated areas when it's busy travel times.

Don't confuse ignorance with stupidity. A lot of people are buying into the ruse that EV's are, "green", because that's how many of them are advertised, with the whole "help save the planet" B.S. They're not "green". Not by any stretch of the imagination.

But the people who believe that want to believe it. There is plenty of information that proves they're not. But they are ignorant to those facts. That in itself doesn't make them stupid.

I didn't see the word "stupid" or "idiot" in his post. Again, this is what you're interpreting...... Falsely.

This is a little like asking - "how much does it costs to fill a chevy".

The answer varies for a variaty of reasons but you can expect to pay from 25 to 50c a KWH.

You don't fully charge at charging station, but most often to about 80%, and you never arrive completely empty unless you are doing a range test for a magazine or youtube channel.

IF you are really interested in what it costs to travel with any EV and what amount of time it may add to a given trip check out a better route planner. It will compute stops, times, and give you costs. You can load in variables like temp and load, speed, what % you d like to arrive arrive at.

It's a great free easy to use tool.

I've never met this person. Seriously. Even early Prius owners. I've sure heard this eco person exists from people who aren't them. There's sure a decent size group of people that seem to believe that's what this is all about.

Yeah, flat earthers wasn't meant to be condescending either I'm sure. This is how people talk that assume they're better than someone else. It's ****ty behavior. "Oh it's this or that". Sure. It's also lacking social skills. Being a **** and accidentally coming across as a **** is basically the same thing. The second one is lacking social skills. Would it help if I took the approach and completely dissected it and called you ignorant for liking something else than I do? No it wouldn't. I'd only point that out if someone didn't understand something, like say charging times or how something worked that someone wasn't familiar with. But if I picked whatever your drove and called you condescending names and called you a dumb dumb simpleton for being duped into it assuming I knew exactly why you bought the vehicle you drive, I'd be a ****. At the end of the day you don't know why someone chooses something, but it seems to make a whole lot of people feel better to think it wasn't from a place of free will.

I think we all know that goods rushed to market commonly lack adequate development.
Look how Toyota progressed through vehicle sizes and capacities. Keep in mind the "feedback flow" they enjoyed; it was paced.

American car companies cobbled together a few hybrids.
Ahhh yes, the "Toyota can do no wrong" posse has arrived in a Ford thread, nobody could have seen that coming...

Guess you missed the Rav4 Prime has been recalled over risk of catching fire?

Or that the bZ4x had the wheels falling off?

And the reviews are not flattering:

But Ford just had to go all-in with a heavy as heck, all electric wonder truck. It's a clown act right out of the box.
Who could feel differently?
The bZ4x AWD weights 4,409lbs, which is similar to the Mach-E (4,587lbs).

The F-150 Lightning (4WD, Lariat) is 6,015lbs, the Tundra Hybrid is 6,107lbs, so... 🤷‍♂️
And, the purpose-built Rivian R1T is heavier than both of them at 7,173lbs.

I don't get being so invested in the asian superiority complex that one has to make a post like this which:
- Stereotypes
- Gaslights
- Challenges anybody who disagrees with your assessment, as if having the gall to do so is inconceivable

Don't forget that Toyota is waiting to make EVs until the tech is "right". Ignore the BZ4x. It doesn't exist. It's a figment of your imagination.

True, but I wouldn't count them out. They didn't get to where they are from being stupid.

- Toyota doesn't have recalls, they have tests for the NHTSA, sometimes the NHTSA passes, sometimes.
- Toyota techs are the best paid lube and filter guys on the planet, since they never have to do repairs.
- Toyota no longer competes in F1 in order for other brands to have a chance.
- The space shuttle was secretly made by Toyota for NASA.

And at Ford, "Quality Is Job One." LOL what a joke that is. That's coming from a former Ford fan boy. Once my van goes to the scrap heap I'm done with them.

You're seeing it through to the end. I dumped mine while I could still get value out of them in the up market. Apparently my warranty on the brakes didn't mean anything so I was paying out of pocket for repairs that were outlined in a recall they wouldn't cover, so a warranty and a recall to cover it and all I got was a $3,000 bill.

Ford has had some pretty significant fumbles in the period after the 2008 financial collapse, but they've also had some bright spots. This is the same with any brand, all of which have been trying to adapt to the constantly changing market and the dramatic shrinkage taking place in the enthusiast space.

Mine has been great, so yea I'm seeing it through until the end. My son already told me he wants it if I decide to get rid of it. I said point well noted. I really like it, so it stays. The new Ford stuff, no thanks.

They've had their ups and downs for sure. I just don't like the vehicles they have to offer, and I think the quality is not what it was. Having said that their Godzilla engine is about the only thing I like from them. If I were in the market for a PU, Ram would be on the top of the list with GMC in the #2 slot. As always opinions vary.

No, in post #194 the words "ignorant masses" were used. How does anyone get to define the "ignorant masses" without a self assumed expert status?

I own and drive ICE and EV, old cars, new cars, etc. When others post the "I think" or "they will" based on zero experience or data, I find that pretty ridiculous.
