Edge 0W-40 or SHU 5W-40?

How do you determine that?
Castrol 0W40 is $27.48 for 4.78ltr or 5qt.
Motul X-Max 0W40 is $65 for 5ltr.
So, how does that price/quality work since both are approved for the same approvals and, obviously, per your statement, cheaper in Spain? What is your determining methodology that Motul is "better?"
Well,
first can't be compared same product quality because same approval.

That is THE POINT of the approval. To set minimum quality requirements so you do not have to come up with your own half baked methodology which oil is "better."
Could some oil be "better." Yes. But your X-Max case is very weak considering it has less PAO, it has been on the market for a long time without updates, and it is generally a slow mover for Motul, unlike X-cess 5W40.
But you get into this kind of discussion because you are trying to determine what is "better." I ran Mobil1 0W40, Castrol Edge 0W0, Pennzoil Platinum Euro (SHU) 5W40, and Motul X-Cess 5W40 on track and had used oil analysis done by Blackstone and SOPUS, and all four did exceptional in conditions no one will ever see on the street.

Exactly, minimum, because that quality can't be compared due to same approval. Again repeating obvious things.

Again with X-Max, third time, price/quality when it's clearly cheaper, lets see how many times repeat it will be needed.

You are talking the MOST stringent approvals.
As for X-MAX, again, I am waiting to hear about the methodology you are using.
Does that mean Castrol is better than X-MAX in the US, considering it is much cheaper?
Here is the thing: I can get X-MAX for free, but I am not using it.

Interesting that there M1, Motul and Petronas are expensivier than Castrol...
I won't say about Amsoil, Redline then...
How about Castrol Edge Professional 0w40? It's not SP, but it's the good.
Edge 0W-40 SP has replaced Edge Professional 0W-40 A3. Castrol doesn’t make the Pro A3 any more and you can’t buy it.

Also, here’s some pricing to show you what I’m on about. Note there are shipping costs with the Motul:

(For reference, I can get 20L of Edge 0W-40 for about $270, or 5L of SHU 5W-40 for about $57)

No, We are not talking about more or less stringent approvals, simply same approvals (post #40). Quality can't be compared due to it. It's one of basics and it's not clear for you.
Yes fourth time, price/quality (post #6).

These prices wow... really you are limited to Castrol, except if buy 20L of SHU 5w40 and price is interesting 228 vs 270, well not too much difference anyway but really oil chemistry difference, you should test SHU and get feelings, if not Castrol again hehe.
