I'm trying to standardize on an oil filter brand for all my vehicles. (either Purolator or Wix)

The earlier thread seemed to imply that Wix is better for flow and Pure One's are better for filtration.

One of my vehicles is a twin turbo Supra and I'm trying to decide if it would prefer high flow or high filtration?

I also have a couple JD diesels. What would they prefer, filtration or flow?

In the "skinny" ...what's your span from cold start up pressure to hot idle pressure and what's your normal operating pressure?

If there's a broad span between your cold peak pressure and your hot normal pressure ..the filter typically doesn't alter squat. The flow is ..what the flow is as long as you're not in relief (oil pump).

If the filter is spec'ed for your engine, then the flow is what the engine designer wanted. It will be adequate. All filters will bypass with cold oil and at very high rpms.
