Woke up at 4:00AM. Flew to SF drove to Santa Rosa. Did my business. Home before 9PM.

I actually hadn't been to that area for a few years.

I have fond memories and my heart was tugging bad. Strange, like the land is calling me.

Something is wrong with me.

I guess not. I was right across from the Sonoma county airport, and sometime in the future they will have direct flights to Seattle, so they told me.

Lucky. I don't miss the dry sere bald hills.

Well, say goodbye to June, anyway.

I have never been out there, so I guess I can't appreciate it. But it seems like tha taxes would be pulling me the other direction.

You've never been to SF? Never seen northern coastal California? The wine country? The redwoods? Camping on the Navarro river? Dude, forget about taxes for awhile. Live a bit. Airfare isn't that expensive, although this time of year it is a bit crowded.

I remember Santa Rosa. Used to date a girl there, around 1958 ot 59. If I could have found a job, I might have moved there. Home of Grace Brewing. Good cheap beer. They had a nice dark. Used to get it in quart bottles. I wonder if Grace Brewing still exists?

It's long gone, I think they closed in the 60s, probably because you weren't there to support them.

There is a lot of good beer made in that area of Californian now. Many microbrewieries and craft beers.

Darn, I liked their dark. Was a good cheap beer. At the time, I worked in San Bruno just around the corner from the Tan Foran (sp) race track. Worked 3rd. shift at Itel McCullough. Hung out at a little pizza & beer joint about a mile up the El Camino Real. They Had Ankor Steam beer on tap. Another great beer. Calif beer was only 3.2 so us expats from the east could drink the stuff all day without getting much of a buzz.

I would like to see WA. Heard a lot of nice things about Oregon also.
