de Havilland Beaver in AK

Another favourite is the de Haviland Twin Otter. I did a lot of flying on them in the 80’s in the Canadian Arctic between Inuvik and Tuktoyuktuk.
Here’s one in the Ken Borek colours. They flew one from South America to the Antarctic on a rescue mission.

Have flown in both many times - our amphibious Beaver was converted to TP as well - amazing how fast they’d get out of the water …
We wound up in a thunder storm with a TEO - that was like breaking a horse with lightning bolts in your hands 😵‍💫

In 1967 I started my trip home from VietNam in a U.S. Army Beaver. Took off from Vung Tau Airfield for a hop to Bien Hoa airbase. The Army had turned over their Caribous but still had Beavers in the fixed wing fleet.
I found a picture of the US Army Beavers at Vung Tau RVN
