Been using Cosmoline rp342 for a number of years now and before that I used Amsoil HDMP. Here is what the factory spare looks like on the 2018. Hard to tell in the pics but there is still a nice coating of rp342 on most of it which is odd since the rust spots aren’t rub areas or anything

Cosmoline is what BMW uses in it cars.

I thought it would have had more road dirt/dust stuck to it. Does that stuff dry to a non sticky coating? I'd respray and drive on.

CRC now sells a spray can of the stuff, we use SP-400. SP-350 is an indoor only product.

As long as you don’t go overboard with the stuff, it drives to a waxy like coating that can “self heal” a bit. Kind of like soft candle wax, but not “sticky” soft.

I forgot to mention that the pics are after scrubbing with simple green in preparation to re-topcoat with RP342
