Coffee - Your Current Brew

When you buy cheap beans you have no choice but to roast dark.

If you look at places that sell light or medium light roasts those beans usually cost more.
This is true to the most part, but this does not mean all darker roasts are from cheap beans.

That said, I've had **** beans from all the larger roasters. Broken dregs. WTH???

Buying already ground coffee is just nuts IMHO. It already smells of acid. They could be grinding dregs.

Their Italian roast whole beans are not that bad, Pike place not bad either. Their decaf whole bean Espresso is top shelf, if you can find it. And guess what, when on sale prices at grocery stores are not bad.

Using the words “not bad” in three short sentences isn’t exactly a glowing endorsement IMO….. Enjoying my 3rd cup of Folgers Black Silk aka “peasants brew” from my Ninja drip that I prepped last night with municipal tap water and a #4 bleached cone filter with a splash of commercial grade high octane Land O Lakes half and half from my “ world’s greatest grandpa” plastic sippy cup while watching Fox News from my upholstered couch on my front porch! Life Is Good! ;)

True! Not the best, not the worst. Slightly above average. "Not dried and roasted sewage sludge" may not be a good endorsement either!!

Drink what you like.

Just received delivery of this blend, which I've not enjoyed for more than two years. Looking forward to a nice, fresh cup with breakfast tomorrow.

I saw an ad for this and the description sounded intriguing, so while at TJ's this morning I picked up a bag. The price was reasonable. I'll try it when the hopper in my grinder is empty, an a couple of days.

I'm thinking TJs is like Costco in their region specific distribution of coffees from different suppliers. Don't know if the local TJs in Delaware carries this one.

Yesterday, for convenience and curiosity, I purchased this coffee:

My first sip this morning suggests that it's entirely acceptable although I would prefer a blend that's a little bit richer. Tomorrow I'll experiment with the proportions. Perhaps a somewhat greater coffee-to-water ratio will help.
