No.There’s no new formula in the US yet?
Still API SN.

Same here in SoCal
Made in Belgium, just like my grandfather. (Waremme)
Formulation is changed. Much less PAO.So question about Castrol Edge 0w-40 and the newer LL01 approval.
Was the formulation and specs changed, or was it just the approval?
Do we need to continue to wait for bottles with the new approvals on them, or can we safely assume this is backwards compatible to the older packaging still on the shelf?
I'm mostly posing this question toward edyvw...
And because of this, I have changed to M1 0w40 in my VW 2.5 07K.Formulation is changed. Much less PAO.
But, old version is still sold in the US.And because of this, I have changed to M1 0w40 in my VW 2.5 07K.
Exactly. Has anyone seen the new version being sold in North America yet? But, old version is still sold in the US.
I have not.Exactly. Has anyone seen the new version being sold in North America yet?

Amazon.I can’t find it locally. It’s been gone here for months.
Every bottle that I have look at on Amazon is the new formula. When looking at pic of the back of the bottle shows the new shorter list of certs.Amazon.

Yeah, I saw that one. It’s the new formula. I’m good for a little bit. I picked up 0w40 M1 $5.20 a quart, 15 quarts. I’m always looking ahead though.View attachment 145211
This is what it shows to me.
If you are bothered, get Edge 0W30. IMO still best Euro oil.
Wonder if they did that to meet the oxidation tests of LL-01/04. But in the end, an approval certification is an approval certification. We just have to pay more for the synergistic components that go into the new formulation to get there. Glad I have lots of the SN stuff.Formulation is changed. Much less PAO.
But if they made it green and smelled like Gummi Bears it would be worth twice that .I wish 0w30 Castrol was priced like 0w40 Castrol.
0W30 has still same formulation based on MSDS and PDS, but also LL01.Wonder if they did that to meet the oxidation tests of LL-01/04. I was referring to the new 0W-40 formulation, probably will be our API SP when it comes here. The 0W-30 is excellent, but a bit pricey.0W30 has still same formulation based on MSDS and PDS, but also LL01.
