I've had problems going from a packages with Ti compounds back to your standard Lubrizol package. If you go edge gold bottle STAY with it for life.

Me, I just stay away from oil formulated with Ti compounds in it these days

Can you expand on this train of thought?

I have not heard or read anything similar.

Put anyname brand 0w-20 in your rig and it will be fine. This ain't eye surgery...

Nuff said,

The only problem I've had with Castrol 0w20 EP in my FB25 is 1/2 quart usage in 6k. Mobil 1 EP, Valvoline, and Castrol Magnatec in 0w20 weights use virtually no oil in a 6k factory service interval.

Buying oil off Amazon when they run sales I find 0w20 Castrol Magnatec in a 5 quart jug to be the best deal for running a standard service interval. This oil is really smooth running.

For the winter, I run 0w20 Mobil 1 EP so I don't need to change oil in the cold weather months if the service interval gets extended a bit. Again Amazon offers good deals on a 5 quart jug when on sale.

You could run any 0w20 or 5w20 api oil for your service and vehicle.
Oil formulations change all the time. They are all require to be miscible with each other. Meaning they can mix and work if you top off with a different brand, it is best practice to top off with the same brand though.

Personally Castrol magnatec seems like a smoking hot value,

But if you can't find Mobil 1 EP, Valvoline, are you going to put off you OCI until you can?
In cases like this Castrol makes sense and it is cheaper.

Are there many places in Saskatchewan like that even, if being rigorous with the term usually?

Even in interior Alaska, we aren't "USUALLY" below 0F.

We pop above 0F every once in a while and we don't split hairs over what brand 0w20 to use.

Its not the "usual" but has been sub zero for 10 days or so in a row, to include a few nights hiting -27F.

Say what??? Where in the heck would that be in the northeast? I recall living near Albany back in the late 70s and early 80's, and there was a place called Old Forge. Old Forge was the darling of the local weather people because it would get down to minus 25 when there was a good cold snap. To be honest this latest cold spell does not remind me of the colder winters in upsate New York, but my memory could be fading.

This.
From a practical standpoint, differences between brands mean little after the oil is ran in an engine.

Use Pennzoil Platinum, only difference is Ultra cleans a little better but PP is already exceptional at cleaning as is. I don't get why everyone is so wrapped up over PUP, while it's a great oil, it's not really that much better than PP when it comes down to it. Both can go the distance, both protect well, and both clean really well.

Yes! It is beginning to thaw, we are slightly over the freezing mark. It is a welcome change from the frigid of the last two weeks. Straight.

With how cheap Mobil 1 EP 0W20 is at Walmart, why not just go with that? You can't go wrong with Mobil 1 EP!
