Oh, USA
Forgot to change the oil on my wife car before I went out on a 2 month engineering project (Reactor Unit Startup). Her car (2005 Saturn Vue 2.2l FWD automatic 80% highway/20% city) has PYB with 1 full can (300 ml) of Luqi-Moly in it and it was last changed 6,732 miles ago ( as of 01:58 pm today.)> Her filter was a Purolator PureOne

I will change it out this weekend for her 6 month PP and 1/2 can of Luqi-Moly.

As rule I wouldn't go past 5K with any dino, but you should be OK with doing that with one OC.

I'm probably in the minority here, but I think it's fine, and I would leave out the LiquiMoly. An OCI is the only way to know for sure. Everything else is just speculation.

In some engines it can go further. My 2007 Accord 4 cyl, with OLM, goes more than 7k before the OLM shows 15%. One of Honda's publications says that changing oil more frequently will NOT make your engine last longer.

Longer OCI may work in the short term, but after 200K you may pay the price. See the Subaru 200K post on subject on page one of PCMO. Bearings are shot after 200K, and the engine needs to be rebuilt with 7500 miles OCI with dino.

There was a comment in that thread that the bearings are tiny, IIRC. Maybe the size of the bearing had something to do with that more than the oil, considering the engine was clean inside and showed no evidence of motor oil failure.

There was also some ring coking. If you cut back on the OCI that most likely would not happen. Bill has proven that for years. As for the bearing size, I'm not buying that is the wear problem.

I see the Ecotec take that on a regular basis with younger drivers and Cobalts (or older 2004 Cavaliar/Sunfires). The engine will be fine.

Thanks everyone for the info. My wife car has 63,681 miles on the odometer. I have never let her car go this far on PYB before. It will not happen again.

I think you stretched it a bit, but are just fine.
Doing this once is no big deal, and the Lubro Moly is a saving grace .
I started to use Lubro Moly , also.

db500, how is the consumption? Also, any smoke at startup? Any leaks? How do things look in the oil fill hole (obviously not asking you to look, but in case you already know)?

Also, what kind of driving - hiway, etc ?

Thanks!

I went 7300 miles on FF in my 08 Silverado 5.3. FF for GMT Dino is Mobil Clean. OLM said 30% oil life remained. I dunno...

I run 4-6k Oci's on full syn now because it makes my baby purr, and I get antsy to change just cause I like too.
