Second filter cut open today...

2005 Toyota Sienna with 150,101 miles on the vehicle, 6,573 miles on the oil and filter. Mix of driving, though >60% was on road trips, and I normally keep it under 75 MPH.

Out/Off - STP synthetic 5W-30 (the shop put this oil in after replacing the valve cover gasket), Fram Endurance 3614 (I drove it the 1.2 miles home and replaced the cheap filter they had put on) date code 23026
In/On - Pennzoil Platinum 5W-30, Fram Endurance 3614

Almost no oil ran out when I removed this filter, which has only happened once before with this vehicle. Normally there is some oil that runs down as I unscrew the filter. After cutting it open I see the can about half full of oil, despite letting it drain upside down on the peg on my oil drain pan before putting it up for about 3 weeks until I cut it open.

We had just taken a long road trip, so I had listened to that engine for >17 hours, and when I started the engine after filling with the PP I swear the engine sounded quieter.

Nice photos and thank you for all the info

I just cut these two - an OG of OG’s XG - but unfortunately Fram didn’t cut the base threads completely …
This PF63 is dealer installed - apparently the skinny min wage kid was relieved by a gorilla - so have to watch the schedule …
I did play with the spring - and it had zero movement - feel confident that it was radius on radius which I think is the intent when not made by
Fritos Lay … (the radius had no ripples) …
