I got a passenger ride in a Koenigsegg CCR just last week, and I was in the company of two (of the world's 7) Koenigsegg One:1s. This is a car that makes the Veyron look like an overweight, ageing heavyweight. The company owner, Christian von Koenigsegg, has a laser-like focus on purity of design and doing things better. Nice guy too.

I took German in high school and studied it for a while on my own before visiting Heilbronn, Hanover, and Koln...nope, couldn't hold a conversation about anything while I was there.
I was able to understand basic directions and time information (i.e. "the museum will reopen at 2pm") after listening to Italian instruction tapes in my car for about 2 months...anything more than that and I was lost. I remembering stumbling through saying, "I have a reservation for a single room with a bathroom" in Italian when I checked into my hotel in Rome, only to have the clerk reply "Ah yes, I have it right here" in flawless English...made me laugh my [censored] off! All the guides said few people in Italy would speak English, wasn't my experience at all.
All I learned in Japanese was how to say "thank you very much" in a formal way for after meetings, knew that there was no way I was going to be able to communicate in any meaningful fashion with only a few months of study.
Americans are very lucky that English is so common around the world!

I'll bet they put some Slick 50 in there...

Who, Bugatti? Castrol 10W-60.

Bragging... Because surely they are not to be driven daily on regular streets to work or shopping, not to be parked on regular parking garages of mall parking lots.

Drive one of those on the roads I have to deal with on the way to work and you'd probably have about $1million in repairs after one trip!
Especially when the road crew is in the middle of dumping a bunch of gravel on what used to be a poorly paved "road" just past our neighborhood, like this AM as I was leaving for work...I sure hope they're planning to repave it and not leaving it gravel/dirt like most of the rest of that cowpath!!!

Technology, engineering, attention to detail, design.

Actually their are a number of Zonda's with over a hundred thousand miles on them.

If I remember correctly a European car writer has one of the early ones with about 160k on it.

For what a Koenigsegg and Pagani cost, they should have all that and more.

Man !! wow…..I believe you, I just find it hard to believe.

I was at a petrol station once, and a Maserati pulled in. An old lady got out, walked around the car once looking at it, then asked me to help her put petrol in it, as she didn't know how to do it.

Was she hot?

Question: Does the Veyron have a timing belt? I'm not buying one if it has a timing belt, no way I'm paying for that needless service.

The stupid little internet story is big on hype, short on facts. I'm not interested in the oil change (hook line) as much as I am the service. What mileage, and what do they do? Does it require engine removal? I think everybody knows that exotics are costly to maintain.

Castrol 10W-60 great oil !!!
I've used it for years.

Very popular in the LS1 and LS2 V8s over here, but I know you guys prefer a lighter oil over there. I have no problems with that. I'm almost tempted to try a lighter oil myself one day. I might halve the above numbers and start running a Castrol 5W-30 Edge next time.

Laugh !!!

She was quite mature. Think the Queen of England who had given her chauffeur the day off and had to drive her own car. I was filling up my bike at the next pump, all boots jeans and leather jacket. She walked up to me in a dress that probably cost more than my bike, smelling of Chanel No 5. While I smelt of Brut 33 and Castrol chain lube. She asked for my help, and I happily helped her. If I recall correctly, the fuel cap was hidden in the C pillar.

Wow!! I would've LOVED that!!

Bugatti isn't really a supercar, it's more a road legal fighter jet, an expression of what can be done if money isn't an object. It isn't built to be fast on the track, it was made to be as fast as possible in the straight while remaining full GT car comfort with technology available back then.

The Queen does drive her own car on occasion, to this day, and I bet dollars to donuts she knows how to fill a car.

I'm sure she does and she can. Full respect to her.

I was more answering the question asked: "Was she hot?"

I'll let the reader decide. I'm still in the Australian Army, with her as my Commander-In-Chief, and I am not authorized to comment on Ma'am's hotness.
