I was looking on Amazon at brakes b/c my Wagner Thermo Quiet Ceramics make that famous noise when you go from Reverse to Drive.. I guess they are a lil to short.

Anways first time I saw the Bosch QuietCast™ Premium Disc Brake Pads and the price is very good

Has Anyone used the Bosch QuietCast Brakes??? Or know anyone who has used em? If so what have they said? Were they / or you happy with em?

Well, give'em a try if the price is right/afforable. Bosch is known for making decent products but, not standout products. That's probably why No One has reported using them.

I always looked at Bosch as making brake components rathar than brake parts. But, the description says that they're ceramic/speicific friction(as do other brands) so, how bad could they be?

Can just guess not too many folks that change their brake pads are perusing this site on a early Sunday from 3 - 7 am.

Looks like your last should have went to Dear Abby.

Back to the Sunday paper and my coffee.

The last brake pads I bought from Amazon were ThermoQuiet ceramics for my Explorer. Ceramic were oem.

With rebate they were around $22. Added an oil filter and got free shipping. No noise almost no dust. Half the price of the Bosch.

How are they better?? The Wagner TQ's on my Explorer yield almost zero dust make no noise and brake very well.

^^^ THIS

Akebono is the OEM maker for Honda. They can be had from Rock Auto as well as Advance Auto with a discount coupon.

Just did the brakes on my 2007 Accord V6. Priced them various ways and went with AAP. Shipping was the deal breaker for Rock. Check Amazon, too.

That said, there are a host of online Honda dealers selling parts at (or close to) wholesale. With the Honda kit you get all the little parts, though that wasn't a concern for me. Check the websites, and they'll have pix of what comes in the kit.

Although, I don't always buy Akebono, they may just be the smoothest, quietest and even lower dusting pads that I've ever used.

They have an errie smooth about them(that I can't describe/explain) and still have very good bite. If I have to put a discription on them, I'd have to say that "they're almost luxurious".

But anywaaaay, I am a huge fan of just about any ceramic pads that I've purchaced even Centric Posi-Quiet Ceramics which are the dustiest/dirtiest ceramics though, they are at least smooth & quiet!

Agreed

From the description, no. They say "Bosch dedicated engineering". For the industry I work in that either means that had a Bosch engineer review the part, or the company that actually makes them has a specific engineer dedicated to the customer relationship.

'Bosch' is a valuable brand name. They developed and built quite a few automotive advances -- oxygen sensors, fuel injectors, sensors, etc. But many of the product designs are now licensed out rather than manufactured in-house, and Bosch purchases other suppliers products to sell under their brand name.

I just installed Bosch QuietCast Front Brake Pads in my 2006 Volvo V70, it's too early to tell how good/bad they are. The old pads were so dusty I had to clean the wheels every week, hope that Bosch QuietCast pads generate less brake dust. When I was looking for the front pads for the Volvo, Amazon had used Bosch QuietCast (new pads with damaged box) for $9 shipped. The price was too low for not trying it.

As I get more miles on the Volvo I will report how Bosch QuietCast performs, so far it seems quiet and stopping distance was normal.
