Bob has been in a hospital for about 2 weeks now.Bob had a blood clot in his brain and required surgery to try to correct it.During his stay in the hospital, he has suffered a couple more set-backs to his health. This is a VERY difficult time for Bob and his family.
I've met Bob on 2 different occasions while I was in Florida this past year.Anyone who has ever met the man knows he is a "tough hombre" and has a zest for life that is unmatched.
I am asking the members of this forum to keep Bob in their prayers.
I will try to relay information as we(moderators/admins) receive it.

Best wishes Bob and family. As an RN, I wish him and his family the best of care and a speedy recovery.

Bob's site is incredibly informative and displays a bright and shining example of the best virtues of the Internet.

Rugerman1;
As soon as I hear blood clot I fear stroke and pulmonary embolizm.

Has Bob lost any movement, speech, or muscle control on one side of his body or the other?
His road to recovery could and will likely be a long one.
Perhaps someone can post a card we could all sign.

I would think most of us could spare a few bucks for something for Bob to give a concrete symbol of our concern. I know prayers are the best, but I assume If I send you money you can do something with it

This board is a big part of my pathetic life so I'm happy to do anything I can.

He may have suffered a mild stroke actually, but those that have seen him say he's doing pretty well and is more concerned with making sure his clients are doing ok! I don't think he's suffered any paralysis or anything like that. We definitely miss him around here and want to see him back on his feet ASAP! Please think of him in your prayers!

Al,I'm sure that the family will need some help.We will be thinking of ways to help them and post our opinions.
I am satisfied that the hard-core members know how much this site has helped them.It would be cool to think this way:
I saved this much money from information I learned on BITOG.I'll send that to Bob and his family as a "thank you".
Like I said,we must keep him in our prayers.

I agree!!! Anytime any of us need pray we should ask for it! In a strange way I kind of have an attachment to everyone on this site. If Bob had not set it up none of us would have the interesting conversations we get to have! I have never met Bob or anyone from this site but sure would like too some day!!!

We will pray as a family for Bob.

I knew something was amiss, there were some recent threads where BOB would have chimed in.

Just say it isn't so....wow...I am suddenly quite bummed.

Prayer does work. I know it does.

Unfortunately I haven't met Bob. I spoke to him by phone a few times.....he's got waaaay too much energy to be down for long.

My prayers are with him and his family.

I got an update from one of Bob's friends who visited him in the hospital yesterday:

quote:

Just saw Bob this afternoon. He is now in a 'regular' room in Baptist
Hospital.

He was noticeably improved.

This is not to say he is anywhere near back to "normal", but I was
personally thrilled to see the improvement.
He is in room T-603 if anyone wants to send cards, etc. Please do not
call the room as Bob is unable to use the phone.
The address is:
Baptist Hospital
800 Prudential Dr
Jacksonville, Fl 32207
.
As for going public, I asked Bob, and I am not sure he fully comprehended
what I was saying, but he said he said it was OK with him.
I know everyone is starving for info, but please ask them NOT to call his
wife, as she is trying to run the house with two children, hold down a
full time job (and she doesn't drive) along with everything else.
As for collections / donations--and this is only my opinion--I think we
should, but not at this time.
There is no way to tell how long recovery will take, but I will keep you
posted every few days.
Ray

Will certainly keep Bob in our prayers! Keep us posted on collection thing.

Get well soon Bob!
