Bob's wife called last night, and they just moved him to Brooks Rehab
Center.
Normally there is a waiting list, but they had an open bed, so off he
went!!!
No further info such as room #, but will advise.

Ray

Rehab is good sign!!! This is great news!! While rehab is very frustrateing at times it can also be very empowering!! Send our support!

Boy,I'm really glad to hear that.

Its been some time, has anyone heard about Bob's condition since?

I hope that he's doing better. The move to a rehab center is very encouraging.

Another update on Bob:

quote:

Just saw Bob Monday at the Rehab center.
He was having lunch, so I got a chance to observe him in action.
He is improving, but again, this will be a long process. He did well at
feeding himself, but his motor skills are going to take a lot more
practice before he is back to full speed. He has daily speech and
physical (walking) etc. sessions which are having a positive effect.
I am not a Dr., but I had a family member live with us for 7 years who
suffered a similar stroke and Bob is far beyond her recovery already.
His speech is still a little slow, but has improved along with his mental
clarity,
which as we all know is paramount.

I do not know about X-mas, but IMO he would be fine at home for a couple
of days. I think it would be just the "tonic" he needs.

I do belive he will make a complete or almost complete recovery given
time. How much time--no one knows.

All for now.

Ray

Thank you, Patman. And thank you, Ray. Information on Bob has been a bit difficult to come by. So, we appreciate what you can pass along to us. I found Bob to be a pleasant person to do business with before his illness.

Thanks for posting Patman. Just wish I lived closer and could help him. Hopefully folks here can kick in a few buck every now and then to help the family out

Thanks for the update. I've only spoken to Bob via emails. He was very helpful and I would love to see him fully recover.

Let me know if there is a fund raiser for help with his bills.

im not sure if any of you know this but bob is atheist. i just found it ironic or somthing, you know everyone praying and all...

seems as though he is in rehab, somthing serious must have happend if he is in rehab. i know nothing of the situation so what happend to him? did he get in a car wreck?
well i hope he gets better. he seems like a nice fellow the couple times i talked to him over the phone.
good luck bob.

No, he had a stroke and ended up having to have emergency brain surgery for a blood clot.

Crypto, Probably more of a agnostic !, and boy did Bob and I have some interesting discussions on that subject.

A major strength of this site is that while we may fight and disagree we generally still respect one another as valued human beings.

He was not comfortable with me sharing my faith online or on this site but he allowed me to be myself and I really respect him for that. I miss talking to him and wish terribly that the family was more forthcoming with filling us in.

I have been what I thought was pretty close to Bob but I have no info to add except that I have been praying for him as has my whole church here.

I'm glad Bob has you for a friend. Perhaps the Lord will bless you with more opportunities to testify. I have to believe the past few months have shaken Bob's confidence in his position.

We sure can't save anyone, that is God's work. But it sure is wonderful to be used by Him...

Well, um, I consider Bobs' position on religion irrelevant. I just want him to get back to good health. He is a human being and I find plenty of value in that fact alone.

Scott

It doesn't matter that Bob is an atheist, agnostic or whatever. I think that he would appreciate that he is in our thoughts. If you were in a bad way, and had friends praying to buddha, allah, Mary, Saint whomever, etc, for your wellbeing, would you not appreciate the thought and intent, regardless of whether or not you had the same beliefs?
