Renewables are better. There's a shortage of gas turbine production capacity if you haven't heard. Renewables and storage can be deployed far more quickly than gas generation.

Most of the Tesla's I see are not local. The Tesla charging station at the Hy-Vee Food Store is just off exit 16 on I-35 North. It is mostly out of state plates or no front plate which is a dead giveaway. I see some Fords charging there on occasion. There are quite a few Mach-E's running around that are local.
Being in the TV/Film/ Entertainment business I love using movie lines.
"Free" is a word that raises lots of questions.
I'm ROI positive on my solar but I still hesitate to use the word "free" for power it makes or anything else.
That's pretty common when you get close to Superchargers. There's not much reason to use them locally unless you don't have home charging. There's a really popular Supercharger in the Wisconsin Dells that's you always see a lot of Teslas coming and going. I know I'd see even more Teslas here if there was a Supercharger in town.
I think it's growing at the necessary rate for EV adoption. At least for now it's just people who want EVs buying EVs. Freedom of choice, right? I haven't had a problem with public charging either and I can only think of one time I've had to wait for a charger which was around 5 minutes after arrival. I've definitely waited an a gas pump more times and longer than that in the past.
Maybe that's me not wanting to be inconvenienced in general but I don't care if someone doesn't want an EV. It's one less EV in my way in charging situations. As far as AI goes, it's a waste of resources for a mediocre product. I'm surrounded by AI already driving Teslas and using an Android phone again. What's hilarious is how wrong AI gets some basic questions and while Gemini has gotten pretty good for what it is, it's just a stupid novelty. I know how to use the devices around me and I don't need AI to automate all of it. I see how bad FSD is at times. I don't need it. I shut all that junk off.
Politicians are all about blocking construction of new generation facilities which would add debt that can be charged back to the consumer. But that doesn't change the fact we have lots of surplus capacity at night as evidenced by the implementation of T.O.U. billing rates.
Every EV has one or more timer function on their charging circuit. Lower the price when most available and EV owner will dutifully set that as the time to charge without your vision of centralized control. Of course this flies totally in the face of politicians' Need To Spend Money On Infrastructure And Give Us Gas Stations Just Like ICE Vehicles Use. "EV Gas Stations" impart instantaneous 100kW to 400kW loads on the grid during the day when cost is greatest and resource least available.

Europe will pay a lot for NG because shipping NG ain't cheap. But they do what they have to to get it.
He can pack it in battery storage at night for use during the day.
And likely has at least some PV generation during the day to run his house and possibly charge batteries.
100%. If the rates were lower at night for me I'd charge then every time. I work on call so that doesn't always fit my needs, but you better believe I'd take the cheapest fuel I can get when it's available.
I figured it was something like that.
Thats not free though. There is a price per cycle that costs something.
The universe at large doesn't believe in free, there is always some price to pay.

You will never know if you don't try it. Chinese LiFePO4 batteries are dirt cheap these days.
I was asking Uncle Dave, but yeah. I know precisely how much the LFP cells are.
