Actually the old Ford CV IMO is the most capable police vehicle out there now. The Charger may be faster but the CV has available options & features that make it best for PD's. For example, what other police car can you order from the factory with ballistic door panels? The ones from Ford can stop multiple 12 gauge slugs and 7.62 rounds and they're light. What about Kevlar trunk packs, fire suppression system or passing the 75 mph rear end crash test? The current CV can and does this and more.

You are right, and thanks for the correction. When I said "capable", I meant dynamically (i.e. acceleration, handling, braking). Should have specified as such.

I've shot up some cars with slugs before....... I have A LOT of respect for a 12 gauge slug after tracking down where the projectile whent, and what all got tore up in its path.... even a 357 mag is nowhere near the destructiveness of a slug......

I still think its cool they offer that though, I never heard of that.......


Here's a video from Ford of them firing slugs and other rounds into a CV door. Not rapid fire but from the looks of the panel after it was removed, I'm sure it could take multiple hits. The glass is not going stop anything, but at least there's some protection.
