30 or 40 would be ok, I chose the 30 mainly because of the low mileage and short-tripping your description stated. Since the engine isn't getting long-drive-on-the-freeway hot, then no use for a thicker oil.

got it. so w30 if for short trips only and w40 if for long highway driving

Very small difference between C3 30 and 40 but yeah.
oh so for you just get what's cheaper from both?

edit: i checked the prices again and its just $1 difference from the C3 W30 and W40

C3 - Amsoil European 5w-30 ($USD16/quart)
C3 - Amsoil European 5w-40 ($USD15/quart)

Grade, approvals or licenses and winter rating.
May i ask something about approvals. On the image below, does it mean that the 5W-30 also has a manufacturer approval for MB229.51 or is the manufacturer approvals only for VW 504 and 507? Thanks.

why is everyone chosing the 5w-40? i think it is just thicker equalls more better. which i dont agree with,.
it's just a lazy diesel that will never see more than 2,5k rpm. just like all the 1.9 tdis that run 100k mile oci and run just fine. But the Japanese have never been that great at making diesels.
Good thing Hyundai isn’t Japanese then, eh?
