Best Hyundai equivalent filter for the 2.4 Liter Engine

The 7317 is not oversize, it is undersize. The 7317 became a standard size in Honda (and perhaps) others. Never spec'd for Hyundai/Kia. Done for fitment issues on Honda replacing the long time larger 3593A or 9688 size.

Always use the H/K filters and avoid service issues, whether unfounded or not.
Agree!

I would not use a 7317 in a Hyundai. 9688 is correct size currently. Honestly, with the issues a lot of the Hyundai/Kia engines have had (not yet the latest models) I would stick with OEM for these vehicles. Like $4-$5 a filter if you buy the 10 pack. Nice filters.

Never been impressed about the Hyundai filter except for weight, but have not seen any recent data on them. Better than many cheap filters but oil filters are not Hyundai's problem. And the standard intimidation of use it or you will get hassled is BS too. I use the Fram XG9688 and for two oil changes. Bought 6 a while back and only use one every two years now.....
