I got my neighbor's daughter a 2012 Hyundai Tucson that only has 75,000 miles on it.

It has been maintained like no tomorrow, and I want to make sure it stays that way. I know that Hyundai sells oil filters that are a great match for this vehicle. However, she's not the DIY type.

So I need to get her a filter that will operate similar to that Hyundai OEM filter.

That way when she goes to a local Walmart for an oil change, she can get what she needs and have them do it.

Any suggestions or background on this would be great. All the best.

Just get a case of 12 of these, which are the same as the Premium Guard / STP XL / MicroGard Select that goes for 10 dollars average. Except you get them at over half the price at RockAuto.

Have a couple of these laying around for friends KIA I do service on. Otherwise plenty of options to choose from...

Buy the real thing complete with washers. Yes they are real, not fake, and a great price:

A great seller for other OEM H/K parts, been using them for years. Saved lots of $$$$

Oil is a more important factor with GDI.
Start with Valvoline Restore and Protect 5/30 and stick with it. As far as filter, I use Fram Endurance sold at Walmart. I have a 2019 Sonata . GL.

Seconded. I have bought two cases of these from them in last couple years.

I picked up a few of these filters from ebay recently. They have the hologram MOBIS stickers and the Hyundai logo stamped in the bottom. Plain brown box with both Hyundai and Kia logos says "For sales within Korea only".

Interesting, Korean children learning English at a rapid rate. :p

MOBIS is a good sign.

What ebay vendor and what P/N? xxx05? Were they plastic sealed and with washer?

I bought a case end of 2023. Second case I bought from them. I'll take a look. I don't recall seeing "For sales within Korea only."

I got these last week from the same vendor you linked, CNSMotors. P/N #35505. The filter sealing gasket has a tiny Hyundai logo on it. They feel substantial, 11.4 oz/323 grams in weight. The drain plug gaskets were included in a separate baggie.

Mine do not have that: (same seller)

The Fram 7317 filter is likely the oversize filter for this vehicle.
If you like a different brand, get the equivalent size.
The 7317 is not oversize, it is undersize. The 7317 became a standard size in Honda (and perhaps) others. Never spec'd for Hyundai/Kia. Done for fitment issues on Honda replacing the long time larger 3593A or 9688 size.

Always use the H/K filters and avoid service issues, whether unfounded or not.
