I'm a 1st generation oil changing. Mechanical wasn't was Dad's specialty. When my first (used) car needed an oil change, I remember not getting up early on a Saturday, so when I went to the place at Noon, I was told it was a five hour wait. JCPenney auto service.
Instead of hearing my dad yell, I purchase Pennzoil in the paper can, a filter, filter wrench, drain pan and five quarts of oil. Set me back about $20 (or 7x minimum wage) and twice the amount of the service oil change. But I never looked back after that.
