I saw this fluid again today for $3.69 a quart (plus the outrageous 8.875 NYC sales tax). This fluid promises to be all things to all people which makes me sceptical. It must be group III base oil so I'm wondering how it would do in a Honda which calls for Z-1 (which I don't think too highly of).

I'll tell you what makes me skeptical, that they claim to meet Ford WSS-M2C933-A, which is their CVT spec. That has to be complete bull, fluid requirements for that chain type CVT are different from the metal belt type CVTs, much less Mercon V.

Ben99GT: I know what you mean. It makes me wonder if this stuff is totally bogus OR if it is really good (but not as good as they claim). This is why I am asking if anybody is using it in a Honda Z-1 application. I do recall that one BITOGer was very pleased with it in his Lexus.

Why must it be Group III?

I wonder what transmission spec it was built around? For that & other related specs, it would probably be completely fine.

I won't use it b/c they say it is suitable for every automotive application.

Since they call it 'synthetic' I assume it must be group 3 because that's the cheapest way to make a synthetic. Are you thinking it's group 4 or 5?

I have used it in my old RX 300 with the problematic U140F AW trans. It worked very well for me,has a very unusual odor to it though.

I was one click away from mail-ordering a case a month or two ago for my Santa Fe. For me it was right around what it cost for off the shelf Vavoline Maxlife ATF, so I went with the ML. Depending on pricing, I may try Amalie in the Hyundai yet.

I finally got around to a cooler line flush of our '05 Xterra (uses J-matic) a few weeks ago. I'm using the Amalie Universal fluid.

No change in transmission performance. No problems either.

I have a 2008 Accord V6 which had transmission shudder when it was cold outside. It went away when the transmission warmed up. I drained and filled with the Honda Z1 fluid twice, but the problem was always there. I recently tried the Amalie ATF and the shudder problem when cold is gone. The shifts may seem a little crisper, but this might just be my imagination. It's been about 6 weeks now and everything is still OK - no change in shift points and the shudder when cold is still gone.
