AMSOIL vs. any other brand

In my very humble opinion for motorcycles and four wheelers, Amsoil has an awesome line of oils. To me, they really shine in the power sports arena. i live in WI and I can't tell you how many guys up here run it in their snowmobiles, quads, motorcycles, outboards, inboards, etc.

My ATV is quite happy with Amsoil Ow-40 and a Napa Gold filter. The extra cost of the Amsoil 0w-40 over the Mobil 10w-40 is minimal when I know my 6500 dollar machine is protected in very hard and muddy riding.

let's see when I get ready to buy oil, my first thought isn't strolling the isles at WalMart or discount auto.
even in the past that what I used to do.
now when Im ready to spend the coin I order off the computer or make a phone call. 2 days later I have the best oil money can buy.
Any Amsoil guy will bend over backwards to help people who want the best for their vehicles.
Pablo and Gary have always been closer to the oil community than any WalMart ever was.
Walmart never has the best blends sold by M1 or any other brand, on the shelf for sale or you have to wait cause it's sold out. I rather use good personalble people like Gary or Pablo.

What a powerful and true statement right there.

They may not know anything but they sure will sell you something.

The local Amsoil guys (I've met 2) I would not pay 25 cents for a sticker from them.

Dumb as they come.

Gary and Pablo are a MUCH different story.

Pablo got my business AFTER talking to the locals.

Support folks who *tell* the truth. Even if it means they do not make a sale as they have their rep and pride.

Agreed. Gary and Pablo are the type of folks I wish were the car salesmen when I go to buy one. Indeed, these two will shoot straight with you even if they don't make the sale. Whatever Amsoil is paying them...double it!

IMO you don't need "the Best" oils for your cars/bikes. You just need a good oil,a good filter, and a good oci for your driving. That's why a lot of us are here. We just want to learn enough so that we don't get a "bad oil" in our equipment. There seem to be few "bad oils" today. So pay your money and take your choice. Some of the good oils would be: Amsoil,Mobil 1 Extended Performance,Pennzoil Platinum and lot's of others.

I think it's safe to say that overall, Amsoil makes among the best/if not best extended drain oils on the market today. They don't make a bad oil. What impresses me the most, is how Amsoil has become better with time despite rising raw material costs.

They are the only boutique oil worth using IMO. The others don't seem to offer any real value over what is readily available at Walmart or any auto parts store.

Oils like Mobil 1 seem to be going in the other direction as costs rise. I think Shell has a better oil than XOM right now.

jarvk22: your implication that i am somehow ignorant and gullible is offensive. i've been on this site since Aug 2006. you've been here since Jan 2008. i have over 600 posts. you have under 40.

i am not some kind of amsoil die-hard fan, but i have been here long enough and done enough research and reading to know that amsoil makes a VERY top-notch line of motor oils. i also have enough common sense to know that amsoil doesn't release the name of an independent testing lab for legal reasons. just like XOM doesn't release theirs, and neither does BP/castrol, or any other company for that matter. the company i work for has the food tested by an independent lab to show nutritional values for print on packaging. they don't release the name of that lab either.

have some respect, and don't imply things about people.
