Wow, I certainly did not intend to be repetitive or inconvenience anyone with this post. I greatly appreciate the repsponse I received from rick20. And "YES" I did understand.

My intention with the subsequent post was mainly to address my use of the term "plating". Rick20 specifically questioned what I meant by using this term.

leebae, no big deal, I am sure. It can be confusing. I don't pretend to understand the ins and outs of it like some of our fine posters on here.

Frank takes a real hands on approach with his product and I'm sure it can be exasperating to make the same points over and over. Quite honestly I would go insane.

If it makes you feel any better, look up some of the posts by BOB (Winters) himself. IIRC he used arx and Schaeffer's together...or at least didn't see an issue.

Auto-Rx & Friction Reducers In Some Oil's
Auto-Rx uses oil as a carrier there is no problem with any oil's additive package after Engine has been cleaned. MD has no problem as both oil and Auto-Rx working in a clean enviroment. MD will keep it clean much longer making your oil last for more miles. Plus the added benifits of keeping compression-combustion-ring packs performing at peak levels.

When you rinse your engine with a synthetic oil the complex additive package has one additive
whose job it is to hold oil to metal (thats self defeating when you want to rinse contaminates off engine parts) this is the only time Auto-Rx has a problem with an additive. And we make adjustments
for our synthetic oil friends. Feel free to post this.
Frank

Thanks Brian,

I certainly did not intend to come off defensive. I utilize this forum as an opportunity to better educate myself on lubricants, and other products. Understanding how those products work in conjunction with each other is not always easy to grasp.

Not only that, but virtaully ever questioned asked comes with a wide variety of answers/opinions often in direct contrast. This wide variety of responses often makes things even less clear than prior to the question being asked. Hence the request for clarification.

Yep. Stay here long enough and you'll learn to separate the wheat from the chaff. Plus you'll get the compulsion to buy massive quantities of closeout or sale oil.

My this thread has gone waaay off topic.

I can't believe frank has had to go on such drastic defense of one of the BEST metal cleaners available.

Let me quote that again "METAL CLEANERS” not a solvent engine flush.

Auto-RXs chemistry works slowly and efficiently, its safe for you, your engine and the environment.

I've had a VAST amount of experience with it and with great success.

I am Engmus on other boards, and I sent frank this review of his products.

Dear Frank,

I started using Auto-RX in my personal vehicle from the day I started driving at the age of 16. I am now 20 years old and have used Auto-RX in up to seven different vehicles. Starting with my 1990 Nissan Stanza, 2003 Nissan Sentra SER Spec-V, 1997 Pontiac Bonneville, 1993 SR20DET 240sx, and two different 2004 Subaru WRX STis.

In each vehicle I used auto-rx as either preventative maintenance or to help treat a problem, with each vehicle we received amazing results. The Stanza and Bonneville had transmission issues that were cleared up within the treatment amount following the specific instructions on your web page.

In the 240sx, and two STis we used auto-rx as a preventative maintenance item and witnessed a decrease in spool time from the turbochargers (Most likely to cleaning out any oil coking), quicker revs, stronger pulls, and a overall "improved" butt dyno feel.

The Spec-V was a completely different case that received multiple bottles of Auto-RX as the QR25DE engine is known to be a oil consumption engine due to a defect in the precatayltic converter on certain models, after removal of the stock header and replacement with an aftermarket piece I noticed I was having oil consumption of about 1 1\2 quart every 2500-3000 miles. After using auto-rx with the oil burning\sludge usage instructions the oil usage was completely stopped and the engine regained some of its previous reliability.

The transmission on the Spec-V is known also to be notchy and hard to engage, with the use of Auto-RX and high quality transmission fluid I was able to cure the 2nd gear grinding I was encountering and having to deal with, the car was driven by other Spec-V owners and none could believe the smooth engagements my car had, thanks purely to Auto-RX.

On top of all of this in each instance, and each case I've noticed a 2-6 mpg increase acrost the board. Being younger with the price of gasoline today I keep VERY detailed gas logs, during but mostly immediately after the rinse phase I got results of better miles per gallon.

Leave it to me to say that Auto-RX is incredibly effective, and a great cost solution to save money in a time where gas is at a all time high.

Thank you for the great product, and amazing service, quick shipping and awesome forum.
Engmus

I believe that the Amsoil engine flush is a good product, but I will never trust my STi to a solvent.
