Amsoil Engine Flush Results

Update #1 350 miles in:

The engine is definitely peppier and looking at the RPM needle location, it still idles smoother than before the Amsoil Engine Flush.

Checked the oil level and it has a "dark green" look to it on the paper towel.

Will be running a ~350 mile trip to Iowa tomorrow.

The dark green color means there's still some flush fluid left, I suppose?

I can't imagine after 350 miles there would be any of the flush left - I mean think how tiny amount is left after you drained it, then after even one heat cycle it would all be evaporated.

That's what I was thinkin'...

Umm, I think you have their Power foam confused with this.

Nope, pair of blazers hi-jacked the middle of the thread by mentioning PF, and Panthermike is just responding to that comment. No worries, it's all good

Yes, Mobil Clean 5000 with a PureOne Ext. length filter.

As mentioned there could still be some serious cleaning going on, a good thing! I'd shorten the OCI and play it safe.

Good question I think the plugs would be fine. I was always concerned with damaging bearings with an engine flush, which is why I never used one. I'm pretty sure Amsoil took that into account.

my bad
didn't mean to confuse any one.

Update #2:

Ok, I'm 1,500 miles post the Amsoil Engine Flush.

Oil Usage: Like clockwork, this engine needed 1 quart of oil by now - I only added 1/2 quart. Oil burning down 50%.

Engine Tick: It had a slight tick at idle - now the tick cannot be heard.

Performance: The engine still has more power than before I used Amsoil Engine Flush. It also rev's up "more free" or easier.

Oil Color: It would be almost black at this interval before the flush... - now the oil is moderately clear with the dark green color. Here's a pic -

How long will you run this oil and filter?

That's what I've been contemplating... With the flush being in before & since the engine may not have drained it all out, I'll probably drain it at 2,500 miles. Then after that, bump it up to 4,000 mile OCI's from the previous 3,000 mile OCI's.

Have you given any thought to doing back to back flushes? It's pretty obvious that it helped your engine, I can't help but think that doing another flush right now would be even more beneficial.

In fact, I've got a bottle of the new formula that I'll send to you if you want it. I bought it for that old Citation we inherited, but I sold the car before I got a chance to use it. If you want it, PM me your details and I'll try and mail it out today.

I'd prefer you spread the generousity along to someone who truly needs it.

Update #3: Just about at 2,000 miles since Amsoil Engine Flush on the Saturn SL1.

- Oil Usage: Has not used any more oil!! Would have been down about 1 1/3 quarts by now and I only added 1/2 quart so far.

- Performance: Extra peppiness is still there.

- Tick: The tick at idle is gone.

- Oil Color: Oil STILL looks light! Amazing... as it would have been completely black by now...
